dying of heat

Jul 28, 2006 14:07

the whole country - no make that the whole continent - is suffering from one hell of a heatwave. my room gets as hot as 35° over the course of the day. i never thought that there'd be a time i'd wish for a couple of days of gray skies and nasty german rain. i'm totally drained by the heat and humidity. there's no relieve in showering since the body will be sweaty again the moment you turn of the water.

anyway, despite the steaming heat i've been pretty since i last added to my LJ. i'll be moving out of the dorm by the 1st of september - yayayay!!! and the best part is i rented a little house - a really little house. it has three rooms (bathroom, kitchen and attic turned bedroom) one room a floor. it's crazy. it comes semi-furnished which is brilliant since i don't really own a lot. but i'll still have to invest in a washing machine and ice box. god, i'm so much looking forward to finally having my own little place. the rent is almost three times the rent i'm paying at the moment but i don't mind, i'm just happy i found this perfect little house for myself. after close to four years of living in a rabbit box i finally have the room to put up guests - well, maybe one guest...?

well, apart from this there was (still is) a lot of paperwork to handle. i need to find a cheap healt insurance as well as some kind of teacher stupidity insurance (in case i lose my key - i have been told is close to 30,000€ to change the locks) and so on and so on. but i'm managing, slowly but surely.

i'd love to go and see pirates of the carribean next week. hopefully one of my friends will come along since it is so much better to watch a comedy with a couple of people.

because of my new job i won't be able to be at simone and sean's wedding. when they first asked me they said it would be during the easter holidays. unfortunately the church, caterer, etc. were solidly booked at that time so they had to push the date further back. but as a teacher trainee i only get off during the official school holidays so...
