Cool anime gal 101: Homura Akemi
Yay! It's my birthday! And I really feel old. jk. So, to celebrate, here's cool anime gal of the day:
Homura Akemi of Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Powers: Time traveling, can stop time

One of the main characters of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. She is a mysterious transfer student in Madoka's school and seems to know Madoka very well. She gave cryptic warnings to Madoka with regards in becoming a Puella Magi. It turns out that she's from another timeline in which she made a contract to Kyuubey that she wants to save Madoka after she was killed by Walpurgisnatch. From all the 3 other timelines she traveled, she learned the horrible fate of Puella Magi and the true nature of Kyuubey. With that, Madoka in the 3rd timeline tells Homura to keep her from her other self from making a contract with Kyuubey so that she won't become a witch. And this brought Homura in the show's storyline.
In the original timeline, Homura is shy and weak and after her transformation as the Puella Magi and her travels in the 4 timelines, she became the most badass character of all. Her weapon is a shield which allows her to stop time and travel into different dimensions. She can also store various weapons which she got from the army and yakuza in her shield and uses them in combat. After Madoka sacrifices herself to erase all witches, Homura is the only one who remembers her and keeps her ribbon as a memento. She now inherits a bow and arrow.
