Bamboo is leaving...

For Bamboo fans out there, it's indeed a sad day. Bamboo is officially quitting as stated in their official website.

As a group we've come to a point where you have to trust your gut, your heart and your head and accept that all things change. The hardest part as always is to know when to pack it up and part ways.
"We've learned that this journey is not only about us but includes all who came along for the trip. Family, friends and of course our front row believers who were there for the best reason of all. To simply listen. So it didn't come easy winding down to this decision.

"So here we go. IT'S OFFICIAL. THE BAND. IT'S OVER.

I have no idea what's the reason behind the break-up. But it's sad that one of the greatest Pinoy band is about to go. And it's also sad that today, OPM (original Pinoy music) rock is slowly  forgotten by the youth. First, Orange and Lemons and now, Bamboo. Of course, earlier there's the Eraserheads break-up but at least, they have a reunion concert. I really have to blame K-Pop for entering the mainstream music of our country. No offense, I like K-Pop music but I hate how they invade our Pinoy culture.

Now, all we have to remember the good times we had with the band. I remember my first concert of the band in 2006. It was one of the events for the Session Road in Bloom during the Panagbenga. And me and my brother tried to see them since everybody is jumping up and down while rocking out Bamboo's hit music along with the old songs from Rivermaya. Of course, the lead singer was a former vocalist of Rivermaya before Rico Blanco took over.

For one last time, let us hear one of Bamboo's greatest hits which brought them to the mainstream:

Rock on forever, Bamboo!!!!

news, life, music, nostalgic
