Mother told me once that she complained to her mother that he was always quoting the Bible & why didn't she ever refute him with another quotation from the Good Book, after all., she was a preacher's daughter & knew the Bible backward & forward.
Our grandmother replied to her with some appropriate Biblical knowledge:
" The Devil can quote scripture for his own purposes."
