Yeah not writing a summary or crap like that because I'm not expecting anyone to read it. lol this is just there.
Kai had always had feelings for Reita, no doubt about that. He was just the type of person to keep things like that to himself, hidden from everyone else. Of course, Reita was thickheaded, and wouldn’t know if someone had feelings for him unless it was spelled out to him. And Reita had never been the type of guy to beat around the bush. He always said if he wanted to confess to someone, or if someone wanted to confess to him, they should just say, “I like you”.
Kai, however, was the complete opposite of Reita.
The band was in the studio, as usual, working on songs for their next single. Uruha was strumming on his guitar playing new melodies, and Aoi was working on his computer…while updating Twitter. Kai was fixing the sound for the album, while Ruki and Reita were sitting on the couch taking a break.
“Ah! The storm outside seems really bad!” Uruha exclaimed when he turned his head towards the window.
“I hope we don’t have a power outage…I can see the lightening outside…” Ruki added. Kai looked up and turned to the window seeing the raging storm outside.
“…It’s getting late now guys…and the storm seems pretty bad. I think we’re all tired and want to go home…” The other nodded in agreement. They packed their stuff and Uruha and Ruki left first, since they both carpooled together.
“Alright guys, see ya.” Aoi nodded and was the second one to leave alone. Kai nodded while Aoi went out the door and turned to Reita.
“Should we get going?”
“Yeah. The storm looks like it’s getting harder and harder. Good thing I’m a good driver, otherwise we’d probably crash.” Reita grinned at Kai, which made his heart skip a beat. Everyone always said Kai had the best smile in the GazettE, but he always thought Reita had the best smile. It made Reita look soft and gentle, instead of manly and hardcore, like most of his fans think he is.
Since the two lived near each other, they carpooled together. Reita always drove since it was his car, and didn’t like other people driving it.
The car rides were never awkward, despite Kai’s feelings for Reita. They always had small chats, about work, video games, TV shows, anything. And even when they weren’t talking, it still wasn’t awkward. The two shared a closeness that the other members never shared with each other.
By the time they got to Kai’s house, it was pouring rain, and you could hear the lightening and thunder crackle outside. Kai said his thank yous to Reita and ran out the door with his equipment, searching in his bag for his house keys. His heart started beating at a faster pace when he didn’t feel them anywhere in his bag. He took things out one by one and still didn’t find them. He started searching his pockets, but nothing.
Reita looked from the car window, concerned why Kai hadn’t gone inside his house yet. He then ran out the door to Kai.
“What happened?” Reita asked, his tone a bit loud because of the heavy rain outside.
“I can’t seem to find my house keys! I think…I might have left them at the studio!” Reita shook his head.
“You always had something wrong with your head!” Reita chuckled, despite the fact that they were soaking wet. Kai’s cheeks turned red, and was glad that it was dark outside so Reita couldn’t see.
“Well, it’s too late to go back to the studio now. C’mon, let’s go back to my place!” Reita picked up Kai’s equipment and ran back to the car. Kai followed. He felt like his heart was beating so loudly that he felt that everyone could hear it, even with the storm. Spending the night with Reita at his house? Of course…he wasn’t scared they were going to do anything…Reita never felt any feelings back towards Kai. It just made him feel that he would do something totally stupid to make Reita never like him.
He made it back to Reita’s car and the two drove back to Reita’s house.
“Ahh~! Home sweet home! It’s nice and warm in here~~” Reita fell onto the couch, exhausted from work.
“Ah, Kai, just make yourself at home. Tonight you can sleep in my room…I’ll just sleep on the couch.” He lifted his head to look at Kai.
“Oh damn, you’re soaking wet, here let me get you a towel.” Kai was still standing in the middle of Reita’s living room unknowing about the wet floor around him.
‘Sleep in Reita’s bed…?’ ‘Reita’ and ‘bed’ were two words that shouldn’t be in the same sentence Kai thought. He shook his head of these thoughts when Reita came to him with a towel.
“Hey, you alright man?” Reita grinned, and started to use the towel to dry Kai’s hair. Kai still stood there, and started blushing when Reita was so close to him. When he was done, Reita threw the towel onto the couch and headed towards his room. He grabbed some clothes out of the dresser and threw them at Kai.
“Here. You can use my pajamas tonight since your clothes are soaking.” Reita then started to undress while walking back to his room, pulling off his shirt. Then he removed his wet jeans, leaving him only in boxers. Kai grew incredibly hot at the sight and forced himself to turn away and change into Reita’s clothes.
Reita changed into dark blue pajama pants, and left himself shirtless. Kai wore a white tank top with black pajama pants. The scent of Reita filled his nostrils…
“So man waddya wanna do? Watch movies? Play video games? You hungry?”
“Err…” Kai was suddenly awakened from his trance when he heard Reita’s voice.
“Alright then, let’s play video games, yeah? I just bought this new game and it’s really fun! And it’d be more fun with two people!” Reita set up the game, still grinning. Kai didn’t mind though. He liked playing video games…and he liked spending time with Reita. Plus, he was more of a follower.
30 minutes later, Kai and Reita were in a very competitive mode, sitting on the floor, shouting and laughing at each other. When suddenly, there was a huge crackle of lightening and the TV suddenly turned off, along with all of the lights. If it weren’t for the different clocks inside Reita’s house, it would’ve been pitch black.
“Ah!” Kai winced as another crackle of lightening lit up across the sky. He brought his knees up to his chest and scooted back against the couch.
“Hey, Kai, you ok?” Reita scooted towards Kai in the darkness, placing his hand on Kai’s shoulder. He was worried.
“Er…I’m ok…” Kai winced when he heard the lightening again, this time whimpering a little.
“Are you sure you’re ok?” Reita scooted closer towards Kai, so their legs were touching. He put his arm across Kai’s shoulders and started rubbing his shoulder.
“Hey, it’s ok. It’s just a little power outage. It’ll pass soon.” When the lightening crackled again, Kai whimpered and unknowingly buried his face into Reita’s chest. When he realized what he had done, he blushed furiously, and tried to pull away, when Reita placed his other hand on Kai’s head, bringing it closer to his chest.
“Heh. You scared of lightening?” Kai couldn’t help but nod. Reita smiled…and brought Kai closer to him. Kai felt very hot on his face being this close to Reita…
“It’s alright. I won’t tell anyone. Your secret’s safe with me.” Reita tightened his grasp around Kai, and Kai just buried his face closer.
The two stayed like this for a very long time…
“Reita…?”
“Mmm?”
“Why are you doing this?” Kai lifted his head out of Reita’s chest and looked at him in the eyes.
“Why? Because I’m your friend, and friends are there for each other even in the smallest situations.”
“Oh…” Kai buried his face back into Reita’s chest. So they were still just friends…
“…is something wrong Kai?” Reita looked at the man in his chest. Kai just shook his head.
“C’mon, you know you can tell me…” Kai was too scared. He wanted to proclaim his love to Reita right now but he was almost 100% sure that Reita wasn’t into guys…
Kai started mumbling random words into Reita’s chest that he couldn’t understand.
“What are you saying…?” Reita pulled Kai closer. He couldn’t take it any longer. Kai has never been this close to Reita, and being this close without Reita knowing was driving him crazy. Kai pulled out of Reita’s chest and stared at him.
“I…really love you…Reita.” Kai suddenly looked down after he confessed to Reita.
“…Huh…?”
“I really…love you…” Kai whispered. Well…if Reita rejected him…at least he got this off his chest.
“You…love me?” Reita pointed to himself. “But…”
“You don’t like guys, I know. But I-“ Reita interrupted Kai with a kiss. After he pulled away, Kai had a shocked look on his face.
“I never said I was gay, but I’m not straight either. I can like both guys and girls right?” The two smiled at each other.
“I’m glad…I really really love you…” Kai buried his head into the crook of Reita’s neck, and the two stayed like this for a very long time…
…or at least until Reita got horny and they started having sex. HUHUHU.
