I should be sleeping...
I just had a really cool conversation with Lauren. I asked her if she remembered seeing the Ataris with me, (after I listened to the new song) and she sort of did. We started talking about how our attitudes towards punk and emo have really changed since then. I mean, I used to think that Rancid and the Ataris were the punkest bands ever. Heh. I was also convinced I was some hardcore punker, and really tried to shove it down everyone's throat during 8th grade. I still feel bad about that, sorry guys.
We talked about other shows and whatnot, and how being one of people more, I guess you could say, "experienced" people at the shows, our perception of the music and people has changed. I sometime's catch myself thinking poorly of someone by the music they listen to. That's just fucked up, but that's how everyone seems to do it. Or like, I'll see someone dancing at a show and getting really into it, and while it might seem annoying that only a few are dancing, I remember that that was me not too long ago. I mean, after all they're just having fun. Now that I think about it, I envy the shit out of them, because they haven't heard and seen it all yet, and it's all still interesting and fun as hell to do ANYTHING at a show. Nothing is repetative, because they've hardly done this before.
Man, I miss Lauren. She needs to come back from Orange County. I was all pissed off when she moved. Palo Alto's not the same without that girl.
