It's Been a While..

So yeah.. it's been about two months since my last entry.. figured it was time to update everyone =P

Susan and I are still together (like thats a surprise =P) and our 1 year anniversary is coming up in less than a month. I've got the whole evening planned out, but I can't say anything more about it because Susan might remember I have an LJ and read it, spoiling the surprise.

I'm still working at Advance and it's gotten much better in the last couple months. When I started working, the part-timers we had were Jim, Kelvin, Daniel and myself. Jim left, then a week later Daniel had to go because his other job in the military needed him full-time.. then about 2 weeks later Kelvin left because he found a new job. So now.. I'm pretty much the 'veteran part-timer'. This guy named Kevin transferred from Charles' dad's store up the street.. though after working with him for a bit, I wonder if he wanted to transfer or if he was made to transfer.. but I wont say anymore. We've gotten a lot of new people since all that though. An older guy named Gray that has decent car knowledge, I got Raheem a job there too.. he doesn't really know much about cars, but Lonnie liked his strong retail background. We just hired on this kid named Tim. Tim is cool but he's "frail" looking.. real skinny kid.. feel like I might break him if I bump into =P. He's good at car stuff too, but the poor kid has never had a job other than grill at McDonalds.. so the registers make his head go boom. After Tim, Lonnie hired one more guy named Chris. I dont know how long he'll be here though because he's in the military (or going into it), so he probably wont stay much longer, or if he does he wont work many hours.

One other thing.. I've been doing a lot of the training of the new guys, as well as working my ass of when I'm there, finding something that needs to be done, doing those things well enough to get pretty much everyone in the store complimenting me on doing it. For example, the oil. I'm quoting Patty on this, "Seriously, you need to do oil from now on. You do the best damn job at it that I've ever seen. Plus, you organize the overstock perfectly which makes MY job easier." Stuff like that makes you feel really good about yourself, ya know? Anyways, aparrently the assistant manager, David, has been telling Lonnie good things while he's been out.. because Lonnie gave me the most hours this week (30 compared to everyone elses 20) and told me "there's a reason I gave you more hours, I've been hearing good things about you." *smile* Lastly, the other day, the assistant manager and I were talking and he told me that if I wanted a full-time position, he could make it happen. Now I'm thinking "cool, same job, more hours and better benifits." Then he says "It'd be an AMIT position." AMIT stands for Assistant Manager In Training.. he said he thinks I'd be really good for the position. *ego boost* It gets better though.. I was talking to Sam about it (he's an AMIT) and he told me not to take less than $10 an hour. TEN DOLLARS AN HOUR! Quick math lesson. I make $7 an hour now, work about 30 hours a week. $7 x 30 hours = $210. $210 x 4 weeks = $840 a month before taxes. Now.. $10 x 40 hours = $400. $400 x 4 weeks = $1600 a week before taxes. Yeah, that'd be SO awesome. I only have two concerns. Mainly, how much time with Susan will this new job leave me? Which is why Im thinking taht if I get it, I'll tell them "To be able to work 40 hours a week, I'm going to need to work mostly morning shifts, especially on weekends." My other, much smaller concern is that I'll have to move to a new store.. and that it might be one I REALLY dont wanna work at (Walton Way or Lumpkin Rd are horrid from what I hear). I'd prefer to stay close to my house, because coming home on my lunch break is nice.. but if I HAVE to work far away again, I'd like to get either the store in Grovetown or one of the two near where Susan works. Now that I think about it, the one on Wrightsboro Rd would be good. Ten minutes from home, Ten minutes from Susans, ten minutes from Downtown.. right next to the mall and World of Music. Hmm, I might put in for that one..

Oh and speaking of World Of Music, I went by there yesterday and they still want me to do that website I was working on oh so long ago, which is cool. My comp went down for a week or two, then I got so busy with work that I forgot about it.. plus I figured it'd been so long that they had too, but aparrently not.

So yeah.. I think that covers everything important. I'll let you all know how the one year goes AFTERwards =P

Take care everyone, and bug me about writing here more.. I'd forgotten how much fun it is . Now if you'll excuse me, I have to start getting ready for work =)
