actual posting! yay!!!!

i love this season, but i cannot wait for it to end. working at a haunted house is so much fun, but it eats into homework time and social time. it sucks, i know. scaring the crap out of people is alot of fun, but it really drains you when you get the groups that just don't give a shit. well, no, it doesn't drain you so much as piss you off. the whole thing is draining. the draining effect is only countered by the cheap thrills of seeing some poor schmuck who payed 15bucks to get in and than gets scared so bad that they end up leaving (of course, when that is because of your room, that just makes everything soooooooooo much better.) the whole reason it seems drining when the boring groups come through is that you don't get that pick-me up of the scare, the thrill of seeing somebody fall over backwards to get the hell away from you, and evan than, it only lasts a little while before the impending boredom of the particular room that you are working comes back. the room i was working last night wasn't so much a room as it is a hallway with lots of darkcorners and curtains to hide behind. it's really a series of really small rooms strung together to make a hall way. it's too small for 2+ people to work, but it is annoying when you run into a group on your way back to where you where hiding because the group before took too damn long in order to get moving (grumble grumble) but it does work into a scare when you open a curtain and they are right there, about to open the curtain. it startles you because you aren't looking for them, but it scares them evan more because they've gone for so long with out running into anybody, and suddenly, Poof! there you are!. fuckers. the best scare i had last night was when a group got scared into a corner, and would not move. i stepped out of the way and they still wouldn't move, they where so scared of me that they where trying to run through the wall! talk about amusing, watching three full grown women attempt to plow through a wall of wood, thinking that it is a door and they will be safe that way. but at the same time not running through the halway that i am not blocking and they still don't get it! jeez!!! it does help when they scream a name of somebody in the group, than you can yell it and it bounces around the maze/house. loads of fun. my personal bit is that everybody that gets lost in the maze it's because they don't have a compass. well, squish and i started bouncing back and forth, yelling at each other about whether they needed a map or a compass, and we decided that they wouldn't have been able to use either one. Squish's bit is that he needs fingers and toes, so i look for really scared groups that i get a name from, and start yelling at him that he's got 10 fingers coming his way attached to [insert name here]. so ammusing, he'll call them to him and than try and get them lost. tons of fun.

ok, i'm done rambling for the evening, and i'm off to the house. again, for anybody that couldn't figure out my previous message:
