I have been meaning to post an update for ages, but there isn't a whole lot to update. I've been keeping pretty busy driving and sleeping and spamming my Twitter. Had some good days and some bad ones, mostly good ones though. I've driven Gwaihir over 25,000 miles so far and haven't hit anything yet! His fuel efficiency is magical and continues to climb, so far I'm at an average of 8.0 mpg over 27058 miles. I also drove him over 1000 miles without refueling, and calculated that he could go about 1500 miles on one fill-up. (Not that I plan to, as it could be disastrous, but it's cool to know these things.)
I did finally get to start meeting up with my friends across the country!
eerian_sadow came to Emporia to see me and exchange gifts the other night (I now have a cute pillow, and a TFP Starscream at last! Huzzah!), and I met
ravynfyre before that! We went to Culver's and she gave me a shiny lovely Autobot symbol which I am hoping to put on the side of the truck if I can get permission. :D And hopefully I can hang out with many more of my friends in future!
Fic writing and RP time has pretty much disappeared in the last month or so, which makes me sad. I just feel like I don't have the time to write things or tag in threads or sjdjdsdmcs. I'm hoping this will ease up, as both are things I love and don't want to give up, even for my career. But I'm sure I will start finding the time for them again, and meanwhile I console myself that it at least means I'm making good money. Indeed, I have a base of savings again! So even in frustration, there is achievement, and after all, those WIPs aren't going anywhere. XD
Planning for Botcon continues apace--that is to say, at a glacial pace. XD I've got my Primus package purchased already (though I'm giving the toys away to Eerian because I don't like them /baww) but no hotel plans figured out yet.
This is mostly because I'm totally unworried about where I'll sleep--there's a terminal in Dallas, so if all else fails I can just sleep in my truck, no room required. I will probably talk my way into somebody or other's room though, as it's a bit of a commute. (I can't drive the truck to the hotel--it's an unsecured space and parking would probably be a horror story.) But if anyone that I nominally trust has wheels and a desire to see the truck, I will be glad to go down with the terminal and show him off! :D
And I think that's about all I have to babble about for now, so it's time to post this and go to sleep! Goodnight, y'all!
