Finding You
*Hero’s P.O.V*
I opened my eyes to, what I think it was, a long nights sleep. My vision was blurry at first but then I saw clearly. Right in front of my eyes were the faces of Xiah and Max watching worriedly. Strangely, I felt this warm, light presence that I had never been able to feel before. It seemed to be radiating from the two of them. They seemed to glow a dim white aura.
“Hey,” I started but I was interrupted by Xiah and Max both letting out a sigh.
Of relief.
“Is something wrong?” I continued curiously. My voice cracked slightly. I was extremely thirsty. I wondered how long I was asleep for. They both looked at me with an awkward smile.
“Are you sure you’re feeling okay, Hero?” Max started. His eyes were full of panic but his body language didn’t show it. He was really good at hiding his feelings.
“Do you remember anything that happened to you in the last couple of hours?” He continued hurriedly.
What had happened in the last couple of hours, or days, to make Xiah and Max worry so much? Then my mind had a sudden rush and memories began to file into my head. Waking up in YunHo’s house, making food, meeting his sister and mother, then going to the mall and so on. All of a sudden something clicked and I gasped.
The man and the wings spreading from my own back, YunHo running away, everything was coming back to me. I sat up on the bed and turned to Xiah and Max. My heart was beating so fast. Maybe it had all been a dream. Maybe YunHo hadn’t left. Maybe… Maybe…
YunHo was downstairs waiting for me to wake up.
“Where’s YunHo? Please tell me you found him! No, please tell me everything was a dream. Tell me that YunHo is here. And where is Micky?” After I finished my sentence I tried to get out of bed but Xiah and Max held me down.
“I’m sorry Hero but Micky said that we had to keep you here safe and away fro…” Max started but stopped when Xiah nudged him in the shoulder. I narrowed my eyes in suspicion.
“Away from who? Max do not avoid the question and don’t you try to get out of this, Xiah.” Max was looking any where but at me and Xiah was, as I noticed, slowly edging towards the door. They were so immature. I would have laughed at their antics if I just knew that YunHo was okay.
Who was I kidding? Judging by the way they were acting, I could already tell that all my memories weren’t just mere dreams. They were real as they could have ever been and I was only fooling myself. I sighed deeply.
“Guys, I remember everything. You might as well tell me now and get it over with.” They looked at each other and sighed and Xiah started,
“You know the guy that had appeared behind you?” I nodded at this question. The man that had stuck his hand through me. After the pain of having my chest cut through I couldn’t remember anything. Everything that had happened after that was a blank.
“Well his name is Seymour,” JunSu continued. “He somehow broke a seal that was placed on you since birth. We don’t know how he knew you had this seal. We couldn’t sense anything from you and how do we know the seal was put on you since birth? Well…” Xiah turned to Max and Max looked down at his feet.
“I hope you don’t mind but, Max did a little research on you. Don’t ask where he got the information. That’s classified.“ Max looked up, lips quivering. I smiled at him and shook my head motioning that I did indeed not mind his knowledge on my past. Truthfully, I was a little curious myself. My parents were never happy on the subject of my past.
“The seal that was on you, takes many people to perform and they have to be high-levelled white mages and black mages.” Xiah put his hand to his chin in a detective like matter. “Literally, doing this seal can easily suck the life out of a magician that isn’t strong enough.” Xiah turned to look at me again.
“The main purpose of the seal you had is to basically hold back your white mage abilities. Or as the humans know it, Angelic abilities. We don’t know much other detail though. You see, the seal has never been performed from what we knew of, but I guess we were wrong. How you got the seal we don’t know.” I probably looked hell confused to them since they started to giggle.
The first thought that had popped into my head was…
I’m an angel?
“Wait a minute. This makes no sense whatsoever. I’m not an angel. That’s impossible. How could I not know about this myself? If I’m an angel my parents should at least know right? I mean they gave birth to me!“ I looked down at my own hands and thought hard. Was there ever a time where my mom or dad tried to keep me safe from something.
‘We taught you to be like the old you because we knew there are demons like this in the world.”
“Demons like this huh?” I whispered. Was that what my sister was talking about? My mother had always told me that when there is a great good, there will always be a greater evil.
I sighed. How could I have not known? I looked down ashamed. Max put an arm around my shoulder. I looked up at him. He smiled gently at me.
“There’s no way you could have known,” Xiah started. I laughed. I swore Xiah had just read my mind. I shook my head of the thought and smiled at the two of them.
Max continued, “I know it’s a lot of information all at once, but we’ll will help you so don’t worry.” He grinned reassuringly.
“Anyhow, I’m going to teach you how to use basic angel ability called Censoring. Censoring other demons or angels is quite easy. All you have to do is concentrate on who you want to find. Or if you want to find out if the person in front of you is a demon or angel all you have to do is focus on the air around you.” He paused allowing me to register the information being given to me. It seemed easy enough.
“The feeling is usually natural. For example, can you feel some sort of presence now, when you’re around us? Something that you weren’t able to, before the seal was broken?”
The pure and warm feeling? Yah, I definitely felt it. I nodded my head dumbly and they smiled.
“That’s good. An angel’s aura is usually very light and pure. Identical Xiah’s and mine but different. Everyone’s aura is different. A demon’s aura is usually more foreboding. It has a heavier feel to it and its usually dark.” I nodded my head. I couldn’t wait to see Micky’s or YunHo’s aura.
“So if you want to try finding anyone you can practice right now. But don’t be too disappointed if you don’t find the person. Xiah and I still have trouble with it, even though we have been practicing for over 10 years.” They both smiled and Max got up from the bed. Xiah turned to look at me and said,
“Oh, and one more thing. Some demons have the ability to hide their presence from even the strongest of angels. That’s called Shadowing. You can do it too, but it’ll take a very long time to master. If you don’t know how to use it you can lose your own soul to the shadows, so be careful. People such and Micky and U-know, you won’t be able to track. They’re one of the few people that have mastered that technique. Max and I can’t even find Micky if he doesn’t want to be found.”
I nodded. But I still tried to find YunHo anyway. I got nothing. I sighed. I continued to try and try. I didn’t want to give up. Not now. Not when I knew that I had the ability to track down YunHo. I won’t give up… I won’t.
“Why?” asked Xiah. I looked up shocked and confused. I was almost sure that I didn’t say that out loud. How did he know what I was thinking? How did he read my mind? Xiah looked down in embarrassment.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to be nosy.” He replied back, to a question that I didn’t even ask.
Well he did ask a question so I might as well answer it. I wasn’t angry with the fact that Xiah read my mind and now that I knew he could read my mind, I wouldn’t have to bother saying that out loud.
“Because I love him. I’ll find him… no matter what the cost.” He looked at me and smiled sadly. Xiah’s eyes… they seemed full of pain.
“YunHo-Hyung is really lucky to have you. I think you’ll be the one to save him from his sad fate.” Xiah whispered with Max by his side.
“What?” I asked. What did he mean by YunHo’s sad fate? Was something going to happen to him? Xiah looked away from me and Max simply walked to the window on the other side of the room.
“Never mind, you can go back to practicing.” Xiah replied waving the question off.
I pondered about what Xiah said. If he believed that I could save him from something. Then I would with my whole life.
With my new found confidence I tried to seek out YunHo one last time. I failed. The only thing I saw when looking for him was darkness. I tried to think of anything else that might lead me to YunHo. Anything… or maybe…
Anyone.
Then I knew it.
Micky!
I could try to search out Micky. Although Xiah had said that Micky couldn’t be found maybe, just maybe I would be lucky. Maybe, by chance, I could find Micky.
Then I felt it. Something tugging at my hand. When I turned around, I was in a forest with tall, big trees and a big wide open space. In the middle was YunHo and Micky talking.
“YunHo…” I whispered. I could have sworn he turned to look at me from the corner of his eyes.
He had the most beautiful of black wings I had ever seen. His eyes were blood red and he looked tired. Bags surrounded his eyes and although his wings were grand and beautiful they were drooping slightly. He was about to drop to the floor so I ran to him to catch him however… he slipped through my fingers and the vision was gone.
“A forest! Where’s a forest in this town. Maybe not a forest. Woods maybe? That’s where YunHo is! I know it. He’s there with Micky right now! Where is a forest in a town like this?” All three of us looked at each other. I could tell they were contemplating on whether or not they should allow me to go. Before I knew it, we were all sprinting from our places in the room running to the only forest in town.
