“Heh… look what we have here. A half-breed? You should learn to control your temper, pup.” I said calmly while pushing him back with ease.
I could feel the angel’s discomfort and the half-breeds anger. I knew I shouldn’t push the half-breed too far. I was not concerned of the pup’s safety, but the young angel I was worried about. I didn’t want to distress him in anyway. I was almost certain that if I was to hurt his friend, he wouldn’t appreciate it. The pup was the young boy’s companion after all.
I looked up at the rest of the friends of the brown-haired boy. I was surprised to see another angel. This one, however, was different than the young angel. He was mature and knew of his powers. He seemed to be able to control them very well. He was able to keep his powers hidden from me.
The older angel was very beautiful I had to admit. No, not simply beautiful; the black-haired boy was most certainly gorgeous. His rosy lips and pale face was signs of his godliness. I had never expected to meet such a powerful angel especially on earth. Most angels usually tire of the human world and bodily forms and return to the heavens almost the instant they realize their own powers. I wondered why he would choose to stay on Earth instead of going to the heavens where their holy ‘God’ resided.
I turned to look at the other friend who was standing quite close to the older angel. What surprised me was that, he too like me, was a vampire. I smirked. This one was a full demon and a powerful one at that. His strong, sharp features and well toned muscles signified that he was well trained.
His host must have been quite powerful. His dark brown eyes also had specks of red. He was amazing at hiding them. I didn’t bother to hide my eye color. I didn’t need to since I hardly ever came out in the sunlight. However, the demon hid them quite well and he didn’t seem to be struggling at all. I was thoroughly impressed.
It was good thing for me that this young boy had such powerful friends. The young angel wouldn’t be in any jeopardy at ‘school’ if he had a vampire and angel around him.
I was constantly worried about this ‘school’ that the young angel was put through. When I had found out he attended high school I was ‘almost’ worried enough to pose as a teenager myself and attend this educational system. Knowing that the young angel had such strong friends alleviated my concern. Just slightly.
This half-breed however…
I looked towards the growling boy. He had no control over himself when he was in his demonic form. The other full demon was holding him back and the angel was purifying his demonic energy just enough to not hurt him but keep him calm.
I frowned. The half-breed obviously had no control over his demon side. Then a thought struck me… Did that mean that the half-breed would go berserk on the young angel?
When the young boy left my side and ran to the half-breed, my hand twitched to reach out and stop him. But I knew if I did, it might cause the half breed to get angry. So I decided to just stand still. For the angel’s sake.
“Maxxie? What’s wrong? Are you hurting? Why are your eyes so red? Are you okay?!” I was taken aback yet again. The boy… had no idea what the half-breed was? Did that also mean that he didn’t know what his two other friends were either?
But, he knows that I am a vampire. If he knew I was a vampire but didn’t know his friends were, that would mean… he’s been keeping me a secret. I smirked slightly at the thought. This is quite fascinating. Then another thought struck my head.
Did that mean that the young boy didn’t know of his own powers?
*Xiah’s P.O.V*
I didn’t know what was wrong with Max. He seemed angry and was snarling at Micky. His eyes were red and his teeth seemed to be growing longer by the second. His nails were digging into the ground causing them to bleed. He seemed like a monster but, why was he angry? And why did Micky call Max a half-breed?
That wasn’t very nice. He should be more polite to the people he just met. I huffed and stood up a little annoyed by Micky’s behaviour. The Micky from the clock tower was much nicer. He didn’t throw people against walls and have his lips ravish mine. Although, last time too, he did have me against a wall…
/Flash Back/
I looked at his grin and backed away into a pillar. At that moment, I remembered the rules I had to be following. Don’t talk to strangers. The boy approached me. Stay away from the edge of the clock tower. Before I knew it, the boy was in front of me. There was no escape. My back was against a wall and his arms were surrounding me and his face was extremely close to mine.
“I’m a vampire… does that answer your question?” I could feel his warm breath on my cheek as he whispered into my ear.
/End of Flash Back/
I blushed at the memory of the clock tower. Yes, Micky did seem to like pushing me up against walls and scaring the beans out of me. But, I couldn’t say that I didn’t like it. Whenever Micky was close, I felt really warm even in the coldest of nights. I had to remember to not be so close to him during the summer, or I would die of the heat.
I shook my head out of the reverie and frowned again. Micky was also more polite and didn’t call people names. I turned towards the vampire and scowled at him. He seemed to be thinking hard about something and clearly didn’t notice me. I stalked up to him, obviously a tad angry, and said sternly,
“Micky?” He blinked and looked towards me. I poked his torso… his hard, well toned torso… GAH!! I can’t be thinking like that in a situation like this! Since when did I turn into such a pervert!
Micky was doing strange things to my mind. And now that I realized that Micky was contaminating me I was even angrier. I continued,
“Why did you call my friend a half-breed? That’s not very nice you know! He’s not even mixed and even if he was that doesn’t give you the right to make fun of him for it!” He looked at me with a detached face. He obviously had no guilt or remorse for calling my friend a bad name.
I huffed again and poked him harder on his chest. God… his chest… I immediately shook the thought from my head and got even angrier.
“Do you not feel any shame for hitting someone or calling them names?” Micky’s still stared devoid of any consideration. My goodness, it was like trying to scold a brick wall for being a brick wall. Micky obviously thought that he didn’t do anything wrong.
Why didn’t he understand that it was rude? And why in the world did he have absolutely no emotion? It was irritating!
I huffed again! Yes I am huffing a lot, but it’s not my fault.
It was Micky’s!
Why did he not understand it was impolite to make fun of other people? Particularly when they haven’t even met each other yet? I didn’t know what to do to get Micky to understand, so I did what I’ve been doing for quite a while. I poked his chest again.
“I understand that Maxxie hit you first, but two wrongs do not make a right! You have heard that saying before right?” I wasn’t overreacting. I was doing the right thing in teaching Micky some manners. But then again I should discipline Maxxie a little too. He DID try to hit Micky first.
So I turned towards Max and frowned. He was still growling and had red eyes. WHY does everyone have red eyes these days? I swear I also saw U-Know with slightly red eyes once before. Was it some sickness that’s been going around? Was it some new trend that I have yet to hear of? God, I was so confused and angry.
“Max, why would you try to hit Micky? Have I taught you nothing in the past ten years we’ve been living together? I told you that on no account, you are to hit anyone that has done a wrong against you!” Max stopped growling gradually. His eyes slowly closed and when he opened them again he was looking at me with his normal brown eyes.
He seemed to have calmed down a lot. I smiled relieved that the scary red eyes were gone now. His breathing had also calmed and he had completely halted his growling.
It was very unpleasant to watch someone snarl like that. Even if it was Maxxie.
“Now, I want you to apologize to Micky!”
He looked at me as if I was insane. It wasn’t that much of a crazy idea. I knew it was childish to say sorry outright but that’s the only way I was going to be satisfied. He opened his mouth to retort to my request but I cut him off,
“No! I am not insane in asking you to apologize. You shouldn’t have attacked him in the first place. I don’t know what happened between the two of you, for you to have reacted this way but it was still wrong. You do know that he could go to the police and tell them that you assaulted him right?” Max looked at me and replied determined to get me on his side.
“Yah, well I can go to the police and say that he sexually assaulted you! And that I was only trying to protect you from getting your face ripped off. He was the one that was ravishing your face like it was something to eat not me!” Max retorted. My next reply came out without any thinking.
“For your information, that is called kissing! Not eating one’s face. Also, it can’t be considered sexual assault when the victim enjoyed it!” My eyes widened I shock at what I had just said. I slapped my hand up to my lips. Hero and U-know started to laugh but, tried to hold it back. I immediately tried to cover up what I said...
