Just got back from voting. First time I've ever voted actually. I was registered 4 yrs ago, but didn't get around to voting (probally the excessive drug use). I understand what people were saying 4 years ago about the ballot being confusing though. What's wrong with using scantron for voting? Everyone knows how to do it from school / SATs etc. I wound up having to put in a 'provisional ballot'. I registered to vote way back when I still lived with my parents, and never updated my address. So, I went to the voting place down by their house (1/2 hr away) only to find that my name wasn't on their list there. Odd, since I never changed it. Whatever. Wound up probally saving me time though. From what I heard from my friends down this way, lines were real real long around here (1hr+) but my parents live in yuppieworld where they had 3 voting places within a mile of each other. And this is in an area that's pretty much all multi-acre properties, so there's not really that many people. I don't think I spent more then 5 minutes in line, and I even had to stand in line twice because of the provisional ballot junk. Meh. Anyway, picked myself up a 6 pack to sit back and drink while I watch the inevitable election chaos on CNN. I've got a feeling I'm going to need it.
