Day Two

I got up early again. This time, however, it was much later than usual. It was around six o' clock when a good chunk of the students were already wandering the halls, mostly those of the upper years. The Concealment Charm helps a lot, although it does cause me to bump into a few students in crowded halls. I enjoy watching the bewildered looks on their faces as some "imaginary force" pushes them aside.

I took a quick stroll into the girl's bathroom this morning as well. And no, I am not some pervert. I had to go in there for a reason.

The Chamber of Secrets, as if you didn't already know, was the last creation I had left behind in order to kill every single Muggle-born that had ever attended Hogwarts. Unfortunately, that little task failed thanks to Harry, but somehow, I have no grudge against him. After all, what's done is done. The Chamber reeks in a horrible stench left from the Basilisk, as well as the rat skeletons that have been eaten. There's still a magical presence of what's left of this place, and since it hasn't been used in so long, I think I'm going to do a bit of Autumn cleaning.

The Great Hall was already packed with students by the time I reached the entrance. Once again, they were all in a constant chatter, gossping about the latest news or arguing about who shall win the next Quidditch competition. I'm strangely drawn to the Head Table instead of the Houses, and I walk in along the front of the teachers, eyeing them with interest. The only one that seemed to notice I was there was Headmaster Dumbledore, though that's nothing new. I hear the latest talk with Professor Hagrid and Flitwick about a new lesson for Care of Magical Creatures. Sounds interesting enough.

Harry's first class today was Herbology. I swear, after so many years, you'd think I would have gotten over my allergies. Yes, you heard me correctly. I, Salazar Slytherin, have a Muggle disease, as much as I hate to admit it. Asthma. I'm allergic to plants. Terribly allergic. And Herbology didn't help much. I ending up sneezing myself hysterical and had to go back inside the castle so I can breathe. It wasn't a pleasant sight.

I decided to stay inside until Care of Magical Creatures started, which turned to be outside instead of in. It was Slytherins with Gryffindors again, meaning I would see the young Malfoy again. That would also mean another quarrel would begin between the two rivals. I had to sigh at that. How are we, as the Wizarding World, expected to defeat the Darkness that dwells upon us, if we can't even be civil to each other? They say the Four Founders of Hogwarts were rivals, especially Gryffindor and Slytherin. But they forget one fact - We were one. We as in Rowena, Helga, Godric, and I. We were a family who had worked together, who had worked so hard to build this school and make it into what it is today. It was just a matter of unfortunate events that had caused us to split up the students. And me departing the school. But I don't want to get into that.

Honestly, Hagrid must be quite the man to be able to amass these beautiful serpents for today's lesson. Ashwinders. One of the most beautiful creatures on earth. Well, in my opinion, they are. I had to laugh at some of the student's reactions as they looked inside the cages to find snakes hissing at them, but at least Draco and Harry were interested. Me, especially.

I listened to Harry speak to one of the Ashwinders. His language is fluent, yet graceful. It is very unlike a Parselmouth to speak at a slow pace, especially when you're pronouncing the words with such accuracy. But considering that this is Harry, I'd say it was very natural.

The young Malfoy was looking at Harry, I noticed. He was watching with such a strong gaze of interest shining in his eyes, and he practically pierced the Gryffindor with his gaze. It was obvious he could hear him, and if I'm correct, I would say that Draco was impressed and envious at the same time. After all, a Gryffindor speaking the Serpent Tongue? It's unheard of.

I'm starting to recall a couple more memories of my years at Hogwarts. I miss it a lot. I miss Godric.
