A Town,a dream and a team

I've watched the movie adaptation of Friday Night Lights, yeah finally:)
It was really different from the tv show. The names are different, the players are completely different. So is the coach.Maybe it is because I have seen the tv show before but I guess I prefer the show version here.As usual I was all blank while watching the football scenes.lol,I have no idea how is that game played, except knowing what touchdown means!
Billy Bob Thornton plays the coach Gaines in the movie.A nice surprise for me to see Connie Britton as the wife of the coach.I knew Connie and Brad Leland(Buddy Garrity)appeared in it but haven't found the chance to see it before.Since the events take place in 1988,they look a bit different.
Especially hair style of Connie shows this:)
Screen captures are from here

You know Thornton did a great job with the role but Kyle Chandler's coach version is more amazing. He just doesn't act but becomes a coach in the show!Plus his chemistry with Connie is much better (we can hardly see Mrs Coach in the movie, though)
However there are also some similarites between the film and the series(eh,inevitably)
*Billingsley has problems with his dad,I find this similar to the conflict between Tim Riggins and his brother.
*Miles(?)is injured in the first game so I assume it's similar to the injury of Jason Street.Yet Street was paralyzed-which was more heartbreaking in the plot...damn the pilot of FNL was brilliant in every aspect.
*Mike's mum, well she is not clearly depicted as a sane woman, which grandma Saracen comes to the mind here.
*Shooting areas also look alike.Especially "the lights" :)
One of the best scenes that I like was Coach Gaines's listening to the radio, the comments about himself. We have seen couple of scenes like this one in the show, too.
lol I wish the colors of the Lions were black in the new season! It would be great to see KC in black:p
And of the course the music...Explosions in the Sky made the soundtrack of the movie. You know I still get the chills while I'm listening to the Your Hand in Mine(with strings) you can clearly hear this in the end, while the boys are saying goodbye to each other.I guess Your Hand in Mine(Goodbye) is played there. Our Last Days as Children is really good, too.
First Breath After Coma isn't listed among the tracks of the movie soundtrack but I thought I heard it for a moment, too.Possibly I'm wrong.
Now one thing left for me to do,which is reading the original book!

Random pics from the behind the scenes of SGA season 1-Joe Flanigan:) Just because I can:p umm also a bit nostalgic:)
Screen captures are from MGM Official site also here and CorTaru I don't know if you an LJ account-I bumped into your captures randomly. But if you have seen this entry, please let me know if you have any.I'd be glad to credit with it as well.
