Two young boys lay next to each other, out in the grand field; both were silent with their eyes closed. Yamapi sat up and turned to face the other, who had a calm smile plastered across his face.
"What are you smiling about, Ryo chan?" he already knew the answer, with undoubtful certainty.
"Nothing much, Yamashita. Summer's nearly over, I wanna stay like this forever.." the words just drifted away as he concentrated on the heat of the blazing sun. He knew Yamashita was towering his head over him, or rather watching over him. It felt oddly good; his heart rapidly grew as if it was not his own heart, but rhythmic drum.
Yamapi frowned.
"Ryo, it's Yamapi...you promised, as long as I call you Ryo, you call me Yamapi." Ryo smiled even more as the other whined and pouted.
“All right! All right! Yamapi.....Pi." Ryo heard the other chuckle.
Just as Pi had opened his mouth to reply with some witty come back, but the new autumn wind rushed past them.
He watched as Ryo's beautiful black hair blew onto his equally handsome face...
"Pi? Pi? hellllooo?" Yamapi was back on planet Earth, realizing he was staring at Ryo, who currently had a worried expression. "Ah...sorry, just thinking about things, I'm fine...”
Ryo's eyebrows arched with concern.
"N-No seriously! I'm fine...just thinking how I'm going to hate going back to school." and in an attempt to reassure him, Yamapi added, "Nothing for you to worry about, you’re gonna get frown lines if you keep that up!” He knew Ryo could see right through his lie when there was no come back, so he was grateful when the boy he was facing decided to leave it alone.
"Whatever...” Ryo shrugged as his eyelids shut.
An awkward silence followed, Baka don't lie to me, I hate it when we lie to each other..
Ryo's current thought was interrupted when he heard Pi’s shouting towards the sky.
"I LOVE SUMMER!!!! I LOVE SUMMER!!" he continued on shouting until Ryo joined in with him. Both of them laughed it off. I love you Pi..
That was the first summer I spent with my him....it was pretty special...wish time could turn back sometimes...When you’re small, you’re naive...you feel like nothing could go wrong, you smile just for the sake of it, you laugh without any worries. You feel invincible...
10 years later
The harsh, cold winter’s wind was blowing across all the bare trees, blowing around the dead leaves, the last trace of autumn.
A heavily layered figure ran across the road at a hasted speed, heading to a calm playground, it was a Tuesday so all the children were at school. Where he was met by a fidgety Yamapi. “Jin! Hurry up!”
Once Jin had finally arrived in front of the other, he quickly placed his weight on the palm of his hand and leaned against his knees, catching his breath. “W-What’s this about?” he inquired, once he could breathe regularly. Then got his phone out to display a text he’d recently received:
Meet me at the park at 2pm
Don’t tell Ryo!
Yamapi
Jin waited for a response. “Okay. Okay...do you release what the date is today?”
“The first of November, why? You didn’t just bring me here to start that Pinch, Punch, first day of the month thing again did y...” Akanishi gave a baffled look, then resumed. “Ryo’s 20th Birthday!! I can’t believe I forgot about that!”
The other boy chuckled “Took you long enough.”
“You’re gonna surprise him, right?” Yamapi nodded.
“Don’t you he’d expect it? After all, we do something for him every year.” Pi smiled at this thought and replied, “In the almost 20 years he’s been alive, he hasn’t remembered his own birthday once. I don’t think he’ll start now.” Akanishi smiled along with him. “What’s the plan then?”
2 days had passed...
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
Nothing like the sound of a fucking alarm. A hand slowly emerged from underneath the thick covers to locate the snooze button on the device. Why am I getting up again....WORK!
Ryo silently groaned to himself as he unwillingly climbed down his bed. BEEP!
Shit, thought that damn alarm was off.
He turned around, only to find that the alarm clock was indeed off, Ryo gave a puzzled scowl before his brain had finally began to function properly; it was his phone.
A text message this early in the morning?
Nii-chaannn!!
I’m not meant to be telling you this, but we’re coming to visit you today! (^_^)
I can’t wait to see you after such a long time! Mother and father are excited too,
But I think father is still annoyed that you decided to move out...
Anyways we’re driving to Tokyo from Osaka so we’ll probably get to the house around 8

Strange...what’s with the sudden visit? It wasn’t that Ryo wasn’t happy to hear the news, in fact he couldn’t wait to see his sister and his mother, but why today of all days? And why was his father coming?
Ryo had never gotten along with his father, they were always distant. He was the reason Ryo had moved out of their Osaka home and moved to his old family house in Tokyo. He actually wanted to live in an apartment where he could pay for the rent and support himself, but his mother had insisted strongly that he lived in here; the house hadn’t been lived in for many years. He eventually gave in, at least he wouldn’t have to live with the monster he’d once called his father. So why was he visiting now? After nearly 2 years
Ryo’s forehead creased as he realized he’d been standing around for over 15 minutes! He cursed under his breath while running towards the bathroom.
