This past Wednesday, I joined my brother, Matt and Alex on a day trip to this place about 20 miles out of Indian Lake. We went to a stream/river running down a mountain overtaken by huge rocks and small rocks alike. There were several waterfalls up and down the trail, it was beautiful. We spent at least two hours just climbing the rocks, making our way upstream, and at certain points, where it was deep enough, jumping off the rocks into the refreshing water below. At one point, we were probably 20 or so feet above the water where we jumped in at. It was exhilarating.
We walked through the woods for a while and eventually made our way back to the car. We drove away to Indian Lake, and continued to Blue Mountain Lake, and from there found ourselves in Long Lake, where we stopped for food. We backtracked a little and found Buttermilk Falls, an awesome waterfall that Jared and I had visited with our family while staying at Indian Lake two years ago. We were swimming around in the immediate part where the waterfall let off into and we allowed ourselves to be pulled around by the current. We climbed the waterfall (It was probably only 10 feet tall) and were standing around at the top of it when I noticed little black things all over my legs. I screamed "Leeches!" and everybody started dancing in the water, trying to flick off all of the leeches. No matter where we stood up there, though, we were plagued by them. It was gross :( but still a fun experience.
It was probably the best time I've had this summer, I'm so glad I was able to go. I just wanted to record this so I can ensure I will always remember...
