Today in English we were discussing a story we read and it made me get all philosophical.
Do choice and identity go hand in hand?
Do your choices make your identity?
If you have no choice, do you therefore have no identity?
Or is identity and/or choice something that society has bestowed upon us?
Then we started talking about do we know what is real or what isnt real. "All the worlds a stage and all the men and women merely players, they have their exits and entrances." Can you seperate acting from reality or do they go together? My reality may not be yours. How do you know that the people that are your "friends and family" arent really actors, and that anything youve experienced is real or done by your own choice, but rather all planned out ( like the Truman Show).
Does the game of life really exist? Is life really a game?
And best of all there was a question about the story that discussed the two characters questioning whether they are alive or dead.
If you think then are you alive?
If you dont think, then are you dead?
What we may think is us living may really be us dead. What if we all are actually dead, but we think what we are experiencing is us living because we've been trained to believe so, but in actuality the things we call ghosts are really the living people and not us. Like in the Others, you think that Nicole Kidman and her kids are living people being haunted by ghosts in their house, but it was their "ghosts" that were the living people and Nicole Kidman and her kids are the true ghost. Is there a parallel universe?
Clara and I were the "beatboxers" leading the conversation in class, wearing sunglasses, and proposing philosophical questions. most of the class reacted with a stupified look. aah t'was great, us throwing thoughts and ideas out there and people not understanding us at all and being all confused, and not knowing what our purpose was in saying what we were saying, if we even had a purpose at all... hmm lol
Clara: "The sun is like the stars at night."
Everything is a matter of perception and how everyone chooses to look at life and these questions, but i know Clara and I sure had fun in class today. ooh and sorry if i messed up the ending of "The Others" for those of you who havent seen it :P
Tata for now

p.s- "i want you to kiss me and tell me that its completely over and that you want me out of your life forever. till then its not over."
cha cha cha.
