Operation: Weiners and Balls

Jul 23, 2009 16:17

In a way, I'm not that happy that it's already Thursday...which is probably due to the fact that I have a family graduation party to go to on Saturday...bleh.  I also promised Marion that I'd go with her for a half hour/hour in the early afternoon to Tara's daughter's birthday party.  That I don't mind going to, it'll be nice to see Tara again.  I haven't seen her in about a year now, since I left Ideal Consulting.

I've really been in the mood for the bagel place that I used to go to when I worked at Ideal.  Not so much for the bagels, but I really liked their gooey chocolate chip cookies.  I want to try and go get lunch there tomorrow and maybe Marion can meet me there to chat for a bit if I'm able to reach her.

Despite the gray clouds of the day, I went to Newbridge Pool with the Rec kids today.  It seems that every time we have pool, the sun up and runs away.  It wasn't as chilly or as breezy as last time we went, though the wind did pick up halfway through.  The girls actually went in the water for a good chunk of the time, allowing me to laze in the chair and watch them splash around.  Lauren Moeller was there as well with her fifth grade girls, so I chatted with her for a bit.  I miss going to the pool with Joanna as we did last year  because we talked the entire time (while watching the little chickadees, of course). I picked up pizza again from Cherrywood on the way home from lunch.  For some reason, whenever I go to Newbridge now, I want pizza for lunch.

I also bumped into Veronica while at Newbridge.  I saw her in the office when we first got there and chatted with her for about ten minutes after all the girls left.  The girls have the plan "Weiners and Balls" for Monday...which translates to an All American dinner to be followed by Bowling. It should be fun.

I have to think about what I'm going to change my hours to at the IMC now that Rec ends next week.  I really like the later hours because of the computer access and the company. However, I don't like getting home and eating dinner at 8pm.  I'm toying with making my shifts 11am - 6pm, but I'm not 100%.

I get asked if I'm in training to be a librarian so many times when I'm here.  To be honest, I've been tossing around the idea of maybe seeing if I can take classes to get certified as a librarian in order to have it as another job option.  But I don't know if Post even has something like that here.  When the Fall semester starts up in a month, I'm going to speak to my adviser, Lauren, about it since I have to go to her to sign up for an Education workshop that I need.

Scott asked me out to dinner tonight.  Well, he wanted to go on Monday, but since I had plans with the girls we had to push it back.  He goes to the Allergist on Thursdays and only works three hours a day, thus making it easier for him to go out for a bite (or so he claims...).  I'm not sure where he wants to go, though I'm hoping for a Applebees/Chiles since I had pizza aka Italian for lunch already.  To be honest, I hope that it does work out since I'm always skeptical with pre-made dinner plans when it comes to him.  It's not his fault (usually), but sometimes our dinner plans/plans in general fall through a lot due to circumstances. I just hope he doesn't bomb out on me and I'm left dinner-less. :'(

That would be depressing.
