Opening night is exactly two weeks from tomorrow. Seems kind of unbelievable. We have a lot of work to do in the next two weeks. I'm excited though.
Last week was really awful. It was crazy busy..and half the Barnum cast had choir things to do and we couldn't decide whether to skip out on choir or play and everyone was super stressed and Mr. Brown was concerned and Mr. Harris yelled a lot and everything was just really bad. So, I'm taking it as last week was rock bottom as far as stress levels and disappointments go. This week we're just tiptoeing up and down our priority list trying not to neglect anything. I've decided that I'm going to try to make Barnum my top priority, only because we have just two weeks left, and then as soon as it's over I'm going to work my ass off in choir in order to compensate.
Highlights of the last two weeks:
- Regions concert last Sunday (only because it meant that Regions is over for good)
- Tri-M Honor Society Induction Ceremony last Tuesday night(getting inducted was nice, but Chambers sounded awful that night, so that was the bad part)
- Chambers redeeming itself the following night at the Language Honor Society Inductions (we sounded awesome and got a standing ovation from everyone)
- pretty good Barnum rehearsals..we got more done and had less interuptions than we've been having, so it was a big improvement
- Barnum rehearsal this past Monday and A Cappella night rehearsal the same night. Both went very well
- Seeing the King's Singers perform last night. They were AMAZING..that was the highlight of my life, never mind the last two weeks.
I was so stressed out last week it was ridiculous. The condition of the show was driving me nuts, because at this time last year we were much further ahead than we are now. The possibility of us (the choir kids in Barnum) not being able to go the King's Singers concert. Choir had me stressed out just because I didn't want to let Mr. Brown down by skipping choir rehearsals for the play. And I thought I was failing algebra II and chem for the marking period. It was a craaaazy week. This week has been going much more smoothly all around. I hope things continue to get better.
Report cards come out Tuesday, I think. My grades weren't horrible. A little disappointing, but nothing toooo bad. My lowest grades are two C+'s..both of them in chem and algebra. I was just glad to not fail.
All right..sorry for going on forever. Once Barnum is over things will return to normal.
Come see the show!!
