I just watched the OBC bootleg of Rent. Ahh..amazingness. I kinda liked some of the parts the way they used to be. Like, Benny singing "Feed the World" at the beginning of YSB, instead of "Joy to the World." I thought it was funnier with feed the world. I wonder why they changed it. There were a few little other things that I noticed were different, like Joanne's dialogue at the beginning of LVB B, but nothing too major. I'm so happy that I finally got to see this. I've been wanting this bootleg for like 2 years at least now.

[/rent gushing]

I went over to Justin's after school today. Saw his puppy and it's soo cute. I decided to call him Pumpkin because he's orang and white (he's a papillon) and they named him Sammy, and I think it's an annoying name so I'm not calling him that. haha. So, yeah, we hung out and looked up a bunch of choir songs, and then went downstairs to watch a movie and we both fell asleep until like 9. I came home around 10, and started my essay (which I JUST finished..took me forever because I was watching the bootleg while I was doing it).

Concert Choir is singing "Seasons of Love" for the spring concert. It kinda makes me mad because I asked Mr. Brown to do it my freshman year and he didn't want to (that's not why I'm mad), and now we're doing it after the movie came out and it's going to be soo annoying because of all the dumbass girls in concert choir. I can just see them spazzing out over it and I've already heard from people in that class that certain people are being really fangirly and stupid and annoying..I know exactly who they are..and ughhh. >.< they all just drive me crazy. I wish we would've sang it last year or the year before..just not this year. blahhh..oh well.

We're singing an SATB arrangement of "I Could Write A Book" from Pal Joey for Jazz Choir..and I love it. It's so cute. We started it today, and well, basically finished it in Chambers because it really isn't that hard. We're doing Eric Whitacre's "Lux Arumque" in A Cappella, and it's gorgeous, and I'm in love with it even if I can't get the first part of the three "gravis que's."

We're singing "Fire, Fire, My Heart" in Chambers, and it's so hard. It's driving me nuts. We just started it on Monday, but whenever we get to this one part we screw it up. The altos are having trouble and we haven't had trouble with anything so far this year, so it's kinda taking our usual high spirits down a notch. The song is really pretty and awesome, but it has all these "fa la la la la la la's" and it's really easy to get lost when you're learning it because you can't really tell where or when to come in from anything the other parts are singing..it's just confusing. I know we'll get it. It just might take a while. here's a recording of our Chamber singers doing it 2 years ago (2004)..my frosh year, woo...lol..for the spring concert.

"Fire, Fire, My Heart" - EHS Chamber Singers from 2004. (For anyone who didn't read under the cut -- We're singing this song in Chambers again this year and we're struggling with it a little [I know we'll get it soon], but I wanted to post it because it's really pretty.)

All right, I'm going to shut up now and get some rest. Goodnight everyone! Love to all! <333 =]

light,
warm and heavy as pure gold
and the angels sing softly
to the new-born baby.

- Edward Esch

[the poem in Latin is used in Eric Whitacre's "Lux Arumque." Soo pretty!]
