A poem to soften hearts, and break smiles.
An echo reverberates off of my ears, as I hear the droplets of water hit the ground and permeate into its wear.
I look around and slow motion looses control, as January freezes us and makes us grow old.
We all scream, “We want out” as the walls close in and were climbing over bodies to reach our prized goal.
We use one another as we get our messages across. Plated with their gold trims and emotionless grins.
We cut in line only to reach what we thought was the top, and find that it’s a desk with a pile of papers and a broken clock.
