hey all, its been a while but im finally out of basic and into AIT. Basic was demanding, but i didn't think it was that hard. Now here i am, at ft. gordon , where the discipline has completely changed. im in the 15th signal brigade / 447th signal battalion / bravo companny . We have 813 soldiers in our COMPANY. there's suppose to be about 250. Because there are so many of us, the drill sergeants are extremely laid back on us, which is a culture shock to me because ive had drill sergeants in my face for the past 9 weeks. Supposedly, all of us 25B that got here from Alpha Company 2/47 are on a waiting list because of so many soldiers. Looks like we won't start class until February.

This place is a reprieve from basic training, but this is far from the Army.

Will post again soon,

PFC Brian Nickell
