my sims keep dying on me. i dont get it. i am not even doing anything!

o yeah and i have my level 1 license- omg yesterday i was driving down to Detroit, and mr jerry (my drving instructor) had to stop and go into a building. so these kids come out and start staring at victor and i , who are still in the car, and they just keep staring at us and then more of them come out. then one of the kids comes up to the door and starts trying to come in, but luckily i had the door locked, and then he keeps yanking at the door. i was freakin out.
