Strawberry Fields

In Laurie R. King's book "A Grave Talent" she describes a painting called Strawberry Fields, which my friend summed up as: The painting of the farmer who shone with the joy that could come only from not having a choice.

That has been in the back of my mind for a while. It's recently surfaced because of the writings of Alsike (nike-ravus).

Specially one character... Emma Frost... she is as beautiful as she is intelligent and she is also a cold manipulative unscrupulous sadistic arrogant bitch. I love her.

That worries me a little and it worries my friend a lot. She tells me to be careful with what I wish for.

it is true that I'm in love with this ideal of Emma. That I believe that underneath her frosty exterior she really does care.

My friend thinks that a bitch really is just a bitch sometimes.

Maybe I'm just naive to expect more.

And then there is the writer... I'm supposed to forget that behind those cold and sometimes crude words there's a human being who intrigues me.

2010 is turning out to be an interesting year. Road to self-discovery anyone? (better than self-destruction at any rate...)

"Own it and work on it." - that's my new moto.
