Remember how last week I said ChocoMimi was going to have to work awfully hard to win my love back? Well, it's slowly working its way toward redemption.
HOWEVER.
I said, in the comments on my last ChocoMimi picspam, to
tohshimari: "Shhhh, don't let the ChocoMimi people hear you! They'll have no motivation to improve, and we'll never hear from Mika-chin again."
USUI WAS BARELY IN THIS EPISODE AND I BLAME YOU, TOH. I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY. D=
...However, half the episode focused heavily on Jin, so I will refrain from manslaughter in the spirit of the occassion. ^.^
Y'know how there's a little thirty second thing at the beginning of each episode reminding you who everyone is, even though they didn't start it until the second half of the series when you'd already know who everyone is instead of right from the beginning when it would've been useful?
I can't believe it took me this long to notice Usui has a chip in his front tooth. v.v
This bit just reminded me of how last year Yabuki-sensei would have someone write the date on the board at the beginning of each class, only she'd have them write the day of the week as well. I would just like to say that 曜 is a harder kanji to remember than it has any right to be.
On a more relevant topic, mmm, Andrew's arms. (What.)
So Mimi for some reason decides to have a party where everyone cosplays demons.
...Look, I don't pretend to understand how her bizarre little mind works. (Okay, I think I'm missing something cultural, but even allowing for that, cosplaying demons? WTF, Mimi, WTF.)
...Oh, but it gets worse.
I think her dog puts it best...
They should replace Mimi with the dog.
I'll bet no one would even notice.
Not even Mimi's father is spared.
OMG AMANO HIRONARI HOW THE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN A++++ WOULD LOL AGAIN. (And I'll bet after playing Tuxedo Mask he thought he couldn't sink any lower.)
Choco, unsurprisingly, knows how to cope with Mimi without lowering herself to Mimi's level.
MIMI. Andrew! That's not cosplay!
ANDREW. ...Idiot.
I swear Kido Yuya stopped trying episodes ago.
He's still the best actor in the whole damn show.
Okay, so I'm not so fond of Bambi, but at least she's not Mimi, y'know?
That would be Choco, exclaiming, "Sexy~!" Um, okay.
Apparently Bambi's milkshake brings all the girls to the yard. I'm as confused as you, Andrew.
Basically it all degrades to them throwing beans at each other.
Here's the kicker, though. Andrew was completely ignoring everyone until he got hit full on, then he chucked a handful of beans at Bambi, prompting Choco to stand in front of Bambi to protect her.
THE FEMSLASH. IT'S PRACTICALLY CANON.
Then Mimi's dad gets chucked out of the house (so whipped by his daughter, I swear), and he thinks he spies a robber! But in reality, it's only...
If they're trying to make this a running joke. Y'know. I'm just saying I don't think I'd mind.
By the way, Take-chan and Mimi's dad call each other 'Sensei' and 'Otousan'. I don't know why, but I find that hilarious and adorable.
Then they all eat whatever that is (again, I think I'm missing something cultural), but they all start whining and bitching.
"OH MY GOD YOU IDIOTS JUST SHUT UP." ♥ Okay I don't remember exactly what he said, but I do remember the word 'aho' being used, so I can't be far off.
OMG SRS BIZ. And again the dog puts it best.
ON TO THE SECOND STORYLINE! Because apparently wrapping up the first storyline with Andrew yelling at everyone is completely acceptable. Hey, I'm not complaining.
Look everybody, it's Jin!
Jin apparently likes to spy on girls at the library.
Well, one girl in particular. Meet his crush! D'awwww!
It wasn't until the end of the episode that I realized why she doesn't annoy me. You may already see it coming, though.
D'AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
But he's too shy to talk to her.
...D'AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
So he goes to the school to, if I'm not mistaken, ask Choco for advice. Finding the classroom empty, he turns around and is surprised to find someone there. Please keep in mind that he doesn't react until after he realizes who it is.
"AUUUGH!"
So who is it?
SLKHDGS;OIXCGN ALL THE COOL CHARACTERS HATE MIMI.
So they set off to find Choco!
Even the animated background characters have social lives!
So they find Choco, predictably in the library. (You may notice a running theme...)
Oh no, she can't reach a book! Drama!
And someone saves the day.
As expected of the school's prince I guess.
This is the only time Mika-chin shows up in the episode, but at least this time they made it count. How?
"KAKKOIII~!" OMG little boy crush alert. X3 As expected, Mika-chin's milkshake brings all the boys to the yard.
Jin imagines himself doing the same thing for his sweetheart. Yes, in his head he's apparently Sohma Momiji on steroids. Whatever.
But next time he goes to the library...
...she's not there. But when he looks up at the bookshelf he discovers a book he saw her tearing up over and decides to investigate.
It's pretty obvious where this is going, eh?
I DON'T CARE HOW PREDICTABLE THEY ARE AS LONG AS THEIR LITTLE ROMANCE STAYS THIS ADORABLE. X3
Nonsequitur cartoon clouds FTW?
*wibbles* So cute.
Here's where we discover why I've liked this girl all along. The book she was reading that Jin decided to pick up as a result?
And they have a conversation about Shakespeare. She cries in public places over Shakespearean tragedies and is the reason people around her read Shakespeare.
GUYS, GUYS.
SHE IS ME.
...WTF.
...I'm 99% sure she's reading Macbeth. *flails*
Each episode is followed by a little ChocoMimi cartoon, and they're normally pretty boring, but this one made me laugh.
FAIL, MIMI, FAIL SO HARD.
Oh yeah, and the preview for the next episode?
...Air Gear cosplay? =D *SHOT*
I know I say this every week, but I really, really can't wait for next week's episode!
