I seal driveways for a living. A decent living, to be sure, but still, the work is a bit monotonous. I tape off edges, hold the blocker board, and hold the hose and walk behind Greg. It gets a bit... blah, y'know? So I spend an awful lot of time daydreaming, thinking about writing, plotting fanfiction, things of that sort. Well this week, I had a job that took four solid hours, near three of which were prep work. So I started with the idea "There should be a drama where Sho is a teacher who wears glasses", and, well, came up with...
I devised a plot for a drama, and the more I thought about it, the more it really came together. It's a takeoff on the Sakura Sake video, and would star Sho with the rest of Arashi as the supporting cast. The basic plot is, they're teachers at a private all-boys school. Sho teaches English (and wears glasses) and acts as a sort of unofficial student counsellor, an adult that all the little kiddies can talk to. Each episode would involve him helping different students. Oh -- the students are all played by Juniors. Yeeeeah.
Ohno would be the overenthusiastic gym teacher, Matsujun the perpetually happy science teacher, Aiba the matronly but borderline attention deficit art teacher, and Nino the slightly intimidating geography teacher.
Yes, I know in the Sakura Sake video Sho taught geography and Nino taught English, but I like it better the other way around. My daydream, my setup.
Picture it...
It's a lovely day, so Sho-sensei decides to take his students out onto the school grounds to sit under some trees instead of being stuck in a classroom. (His class has just started Shakespeare, and in the hopes of getting them to really understand and enjoy the texts, he's having them each take roles and read the plays through. Yuto's too proud to turn down reading for Romeo, and star pupil Yamada's too sweet and shy to tell his favourite teacher that he doesn't really want to read for Juliet.) On the way through the garden, his class passes Aiba-sensei's. "Okay class, I want to see some feeling. Show me everything you've learned -- shading, colouration, proportion-- ooh, a butterfly!"
Sho-sensei stops by Matsujun-sensei's classroom because Matsujun's concerned about one of their students. ("It's Hashimoto-kun, I'm a little worried about him, I think the older boys have been bullying him, but he won't talk to anyone...") Meanwhile, Matsujun-sensei's T.A., Kawai, mills about in the background, putting test papers facedown on the desks and humming WISH.
And special guest star Oguri Shun (!!!) as the headmaster's asshole son, though his father refuses to believe him to be anything less than an angel. When he pulls the fire alarm for a laugh, reformed delinquent Nikaido is in the wrong place at the wrong time and may end up taking the fall for something he didn't do. However, this'll be his third strike, and if no one steps in on his behalf, he'll be expelled. Only one person whole-heartedly believes his innocence, but lucky for him, it's Sho-sensei. However, they'll need the help of Senga, who saw everything but is too afraid to come forward.
I can't decide who would play chibi!Sho in the obligatory flashbacks, though. I was thinking maybe Daiki, but then he couldn't be in the rest of the series. Ahh, dilemma.
Oooh~! Come on, I'd watch a drama like that. Heck, if my Japanese was good enough, TV Asahi would be getting a letter starting off with "Dear TV Asahi, I've got an idea that'll make you a whole lot of money. Now, call Johnny's and tell them you need Arashi and as many Juniors as they can spare..."
If nothing else, it'd make epic AU fanfiction.
If it were to be fanfiction, though, I'd have to recast Shun's role with someone JE. I'm thinking Ikuta Toma, Hasegawa Jun, or Toshin Yoshikazu. Any thoughts?
