Last week I randomly decided to list the Kamen Rider series I've seen, ranked according to how much I liked them. Today I was looking at Inoue Toshiki's Japanese Wikipedia article and realized he's worked on almost every Rider series I've seen. Then I compared his level of involvement to my favourites.

It's official: Inoue is my kryptonite. Seriously, it's uncanny.

Disclaimer: Faiz is actually quite well written; I ranked it rather low because it makes use of plot devices I can't stand ("poor communication kills" just gives me so much second-hand frustration) and the overall dark tone just doesn't jive with my personal tastes. Quality =/= enjoyment.

Semi-related: Learning that Den-O was scripted by a woman made me unaccountably happy (Kobayashi Yasuko brought enough awesome for the rest of the class, okay), and my affection for Blade made so much more sense after I learned Aikawa Sho also worked on Go-onger. Basically Kobayashi and Aikawa changed my life with their awesome.

Related in that it's about jdrama staff: Apparently Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru has the same screenwriter as ChocoMimi. I cannot make sense of this no matter how hard I consider it. And the director of ChocoMimi? Responsible for Bokura no Ai no Kanade (BL movie), Kindan no Koi (BL movie), GL ~Koakumatachi no Yuuwaku~ (girls love movie). And then the composer, Watanabe Cher, had varying levels of involvement in Ryuki, Faiz, Blade, Kabuto, Tenipuri, and Yumeiro Patissiere, of all things. WTF, ChocoMimi, did you just grab whatever staff members you could or what? Maybe working on ChocoMimi gave everyone emotional issues, idk.

Real life followup: I just don't know how to feel about anything anymore augh. I'm so hellbent on not getting super-depressed about everything that I'm pretty much ignoring it entirely. Denial, that's the ticket! WHY CAN'T LIFE BE EASIER.

fail, chocomimi, kamen rider
