Manga post, because I feel like it.
Angel Sanctuary: I checked the entire series out from the library while I was home, figuring I could get through it in a couple days, but what I didn't count on was my general inexplicable aversion to Yuki Kaori series. For the first time in my life I returned manga to the library unread. Then I downloaded the last couple volumes and read them, so it didn't really make a difference, but this is a matter of pride.
...I actually nave nothing to say about the series itself. /durr
Gokinjo Monogatari: Possibly my new favourite Yazawa series. It has its emotional ups and downs and its moments of drama, but it falls pleasantly short of Parakiss and Nana's "omg how could people possibly live like that" drama. I don't have any sophisticated thoughts here, but man do I ever want a closet full of Happy Berry. |D
Devilman: My first Nagai Go series! With a final volume that would make CLAMP proud, oh god. It was like the ends of Tokyo Babylon and RG Veda put together. Actually the whole series was a bit like if CLAMP circa 1992 had done the script for GARO, or something. I think I need more Nagai Go manga in my life.
Freesia: I'm assuming I liked it on the grounds that the ending made me go "wtf then what was the point of the last 12 volumes" but at the same time didn't make me dislike it. Still feel a bit confused about the whole thing.
ROOKIES: I LOVE HAMANAKA TAIYOU.
lololol I thought Aniya was dumb as mud, but I think I have seen plastic cutlery with more brains than Hamanaka. And not only is he stupid, he is adorably overenthusiastic. And he idolizes the baseball team. His hero is Hiratsuka lolol. (Well, I told you he's stupid.) He tells Akaboshi the baseball team had his back because "they didn't want your retarded-ass dream to get ruined!" And when he's not trying to pick a fight, you guys, he is beyond cute. Like, cuter than Mikoshiba and Toko-chan, combined. Basically he's the ROOKIES equivalent of a bimbo, and I just want to hug him.
But Okada is still my favourite. And Imaoka... and Shinjo. I HAVE A LOT OF FAVOURITES IN ROOKIES, OKAY. OKAY.
For the record, the more I read of ROOKIES, the more I think Mikoshiba and Toko should really get together. It's not gonna happen, Toko and Aniya are practically married, but. You guys. Mikoshiba would treat her right. *tries to resist shipping madly*
