2 days until the Terry Fox Run omg! Sponsor me
here!
Wow, okay, so I have had an eventful couple of days.
Day before last I had a shower in the evening and as I was walking back to my room I passed two guys talking in the hall, and caught words like "cops" and "Highlander". I didn't think anything of it until I was opening my door and heard "deck", upon which I shuffled my wet hair and fluffy slippers back down the hall to ask, "Are you guys talking about Kamen Rider Ryuki?" Not only were they, but one of the guys was holding, I shit you not, the
Drake Grip gun from Kabuto. Long story short, I made some new friends! And "Are you talking about Kamen Rider?" is now my new favourite conversation starter.
In the summer my mom said I should join a club or group or something to meet people, and I said maybe I'd join the Japanese International Student Association or something, and she laughed~ Well yesterday I joined it. Everyone is quite nice and also nerdy and a couple of the members are in one of my classes, and my membership card is #41 so if I was a Pokemon I'd be Zubat!
And the class I mentioned that I wasn't technically enrolled apparently has about 15-20 other students in the same boat, on top of the 15-20 students actually enrolled. We had to steal pretty much all the chairs from the classroom nextdoor and could barely open the door by the time we were all crammed in. And I didn't mention before, but the prof is Ted-sensei~! He is still the coolest person in the world, okay. Except for the part where he's making up read large chunks of Genji Monogatari, which is more like cruel and unusual punishment but I will persevere~ and if in doubt, manga. (askdhg I get to use my 'ted-sensei' tag again! ♥)
IDEK why I'm mentioning this but I feel compelled to share: There's a guy in my class with blue hair. Bright blue, like somewhere between "1998 visual kei" and "anime character". And I'm 99% sure he was wearing a padlock with the letter 'R' on it, like from Nana. P- perhaps someone will find that interesting.
