I think Hiroyuki's a little bit in love with Akagi. Can't say I blame him.
lollll Ten volume 8 has the coolest moment. The automated tile shuffler jams so West has to take a quick break to fix it, during which Akagi and Ten take Hiroyuki outside to strategize brilliantly. When it's fixed and they go back inside:
Hiroyuki: ...Huh? What? (seeing his own point counters) There should have been 3000 points left, but there's only 2000 here.
Akagi: Must be yours, then. Maybe you lost track of it when you paid the 4000 points a minute ago. That's probably it.
Hiroyuki: Huh? Don't be silly, I... (stops dead)

...Then in the next round he turns a mediocre hand that hit tenpai by the fourth round into tenpai for jun-chan ryan-pei-kou with two dora in the seventh round. JFC IT'S INHUMAN. *seriously awed by fictional mahjong* (He has to hand it off to Ten who takes it to suu-an-kou but Akagi wins in awesome for discarding two consecutive tiles Akutsu could've ron'd on and totally getting away with it.)
