Boo, crummy weather. It was so nice earlier! Really warm, clear skies... then BAM, black sky, wind, rain, thunder, lightning... BOO, BIPOLAR WEATHER. MAKE UP YOUR MIND.
So! The more Gothic lit I read, the more I think 95% of Gothic heroines are lesbians. Matilda/Isabella OTP. I started reading Carmilla last night (have to have it done for Tuesday), and, holy smokes, it's really not doing anything to change my mind.
"How romantic you are, Carmilla," I said. "Whenever you tell me your story, it will be made up chiefly of some one great romance."
She kissed me silently.
"I am sure, Carmilla, you have been in love; that there is, at this moment, an affair of the heart going on."
"I have been in love with no one, and never shall," she whispered, "unless it should be with you."
How beautiful she looked in the moonlight!
About as subtle as a 2x4 to the head, that. (The best part is obviously that the narrator is TOTALLY CLUELESS, in a handful of ways. She must've been dropped on her head as a child or something.)
I do have one big problem with Carmilla, though. IT'S SO FUCKING CREEPY. UGGGH, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU CHECK YOUR DOOR IS LOCKED AND LOOK UNDER YOUR BED, YOU ARE STILL NOT SAFE. I'm not especially afraid of vampires, but I am afraid of things under my bed and things that go bump in the night, so I'm not sure I'll be able to sleep soundly, y'know, ever again. Even the book itself has started creeping me out, so - well, long story short, there's a trade paperback in the freezer.
But speaking of gay, there's
new videos and
a radio program up on the Tenimyu site! Kido Yuya's in all of them~ (All the new ones, I mean.) Yaaay, he's such a cutie; no wonder he's everybody's adorable kouhai. (*^_^*)
Okay, so. Study notes, essays, reading... Busy, busy weekend. *AVOIDS CARMILLA FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE*
