Friday was good. PCCG and Language Arts was relatively slack, with us watching (plus Fishie and Michelle's brains totally dying) She's The Man and then some BBC documentary in response to Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth. The latter was quite boring, with a sore lack of evidence to back up their statements, but it offered an alternative perspective about the whole global warming issue, which was interesting. Watched some House during recess, where Piper Perabo guest-starred as some nutritionist who House hit on. After recess, an IH presentation on gender inequality, and the throwing back and forth of ideas was ... intense. People should be more aware of their tone. And the discussion went super off-track, but moving on. I don't remember what we did during math, which basically means that we probably didn't do anything. Lunch and chinese (since 老师 went off somewhere) was a whole load of cramming Chem worksheets, Bio practicals and attempting to file bio unsuccessfully cause I realised I left some stuff at home. It was the most productive I felt in a long time (though courtesy of
izgany's pro-ness, we weren't really using our brains anyway). Some of them played floorball in the corridor after school, which should be done more often. Would have loved to play, but tuition came calling, ugh.
So the main idea of this entry is that we watched A Midsummer Night's Dream at Fort Canning Park, at night. Emma Yong was really really good. Her acting. And her singing voice. I semi-fangirled to Noreen. And I shook her hand at the end, which was ♥. I ship Demetrius/Helena! The actress who played Helena was very modern and convincing. I thought the whole walkway idea of the play was good, but at the beginning I was confused cause the dialogue was coming from everywhere and I had no idea what the play was about. But overall, it was an entertaining production. And really funny.
We should have more class outings, sometime.
(the photos are kind of big, so they may take a while to load)
On another note, Mother's Day today, and Alvin's Birthday (happy birthday, you!). Went out yesterday to get presents. Thanks for the company :) Mum liked the brownie, and the flowers (African Violets). On another note, I hung up some stuff in my room, since I have so much wall space. Dad bought them from China for around $5 each, and they're hand-stitched, which is cool.
I need to learn to lighten up, take things as they are.
