I think that pursuing art, as creatively inspiring and rewarding as it is, is also an exercise in self-depreciation and inadequacy. The more you think, the more you realize you don’t know. The more you create, the more you realize you destroy. It is beautiful but not enough, it is meaningful but not quite, and it is never perfect. And then there’s the inescapable horror of what other people may think of your art. All this culminates in a subtle tightening of your chest that never quite goes away.
It sucks but it makes you feel alive.
