I got back from my trip to New York today. Overall, I'm glad I had the experience but I don't plan on ever going back. 'Wicked' was absolutely amazing, 'Spamalot' was hilarious, and I loved singing in St. John the Divine Cathedral, but the city is crowded, cold, noisy, and dirty. There's hardly any sunlight, it's freezing, and the subways give me panic attacks. The day we went down to Rockefeller Center, we had to walk back to the hotel in the bitterly cold rain. Another day my mom almost got hit by a car. People on the street are always trying to hand you stuff and they just shove you out of the way because everything goes so fast. It freaked me out. Not to mention I was sick the last 3 days there. We were supposed to come back on Sunday but our flight was cancelled so we had to rebook to today. What got me through was really the gorgeous Japanese tourist boys extraordinary Broadway musicals. We also saw a 3 hour opera. ...yeah. It was a good show, but 3 hours is tough to sit through.
So, yes, that was my trip. I'm sure I won't forget it any time soon.
