The Kiss

It began with a kiss.  Or, at least it seems to have started that way.  A young man was kissing a beautiful woman.  Under the stars I watched a story unfold.

They walked along the flower filled hillside.  It was almost too dark to see them buy my mom says I have excellent night vision.  If they had been walking not an hour later they would have been entirely invisible.  Behind a bush I sat to watch them.

The woman walked gracefully.  She was dressed from head to toe in gold.  Hair decorated with flowers graced her covered shoulders. She wore colorful circles that danced across her body as she moved.  The man, he walked nervously, almost as if he were holding back.  He radiated with so much anxiety that even I could feel it.

Soon the man took something from his pocket.  He held a small black box in the palm of his hand.  As he opened the box he lowered himself down onto one knee holding the box out to the woman.  Suddenly, she fell to her own knees, touched the open box with one hand and put the other to her lips.  The man took a small ring from the box and slipped it onto the girl's finger.  Slowly he stood up behind the girl, grabbed her face gently and kissed her.

Love burned in both of their faces.  I was sure that both of them were probably struggling to get their feet back on the ground.  So that is how I left them, struggling, together and loving ever minute of it.
