Yesterday was such a werid day.
School was the same as usual.
Came home...got gas card...then my aunt called bawling saying that my uncle was in the intensive care unit from a car accident, and she needed my mom and aunt Maureen to get there A.S.A.P. SO i drove to the park, picked them up, drove home so my aunt could get her car...then they were off. I didnt really think too much of it, because i had a pretty good feeling that everything was going to be okay.
Then Jim called, I went up to the village-- thennn drove to Detroit for a shirt?! Coooool....NOT! the best part was, after about 22 minutes of driving, they didnt even have his size. Hmmmm. FUN.
Then i FiNaLlY got home, and Gillian called seeing if I wanted to study for APchem-- which i DEFINATELY needed to do, so after being home.24653 seconds I was off again.
Then i got to gillians-- we had dinner and started studying, and about 2 minutes into our study session (with the PHOTOcopied notes--lol), my mom calls my frantically and tells me to get home. I've NEVER heard that tone in her voice before. It was like her heart had just been ripped in half. I told her i was studying for a test i had the next day and she was like "let me just assure you--you WONT be going to school tommrow". THats when it set in. Something REALLY bad had happened. Needless to say, i raced home.
All of my sisters were home, as was my cousin. I tried to put them to bed, which didnt really work out as i had planned. About 20 minutes later, my 5 year old sister comes down the stairs and was like "wheres mommy?". I was like umm...shes with uncle tom. SHe didnt understand and kept asking questions which made it even harder on me to not break down into tears. Then around 12:00 my mom called me crying, but didnt want to talk...she just let me know she wasn't coming home.
then i woke up this morning to the phone ringing. It was my mom agian. She was hysterical, and let me know that my uncle (her brother)had passed away, and that I couldn't tell the kids, but that i was to take them to school, then meet her at my gmas.
It's just insane how you can be with some one day, laughing and joking around over dinner--and two days later, you realize that it was the last time you'll ever see them agian. NEVER take anyone for granted. EVER. Crazy things happen everyday, and though you may believe you're the exception, no one can escape tragedy. If you love someone, tell them everyday...you never know when it'll be your last.
