Chapter One
Harry could feel the wind blowing around him. His wand was nowhere to be found and his broom was heading in another direction. Being only halfway aware of what was happening, he couldn’t formulate a plan to stop it. The ground was growing closer and closer; the crowd was growing louder and louder. In a moment of panic, he looked for something, someone, to grab a hold of. Unfortunately, the blow had knocked his glasses off and sent them tumbling away from him. Even if he had been fully aware of his surroundings, he wouldn’t have been able to see much.
The fall seemed quicker than usual; this wasn’t the first time he had been knocked off his broom. But this time was different. He had been chasing the snitch for what seemed like hours and the immense fog had prevented Harry from being able to keep track of where he was. When he finally hit solid ground, he landed nearly flat on his face at the edge of the Quidditch field. No one had noticed at first; no one had stopped him from falling. A wave of cramps wracked his body, radiating from his abdomen. He curled into a ball the best he could before the world went black.
Draco was the first one to his side. Their relationship had been public for a while now, so he didn’t hesitate to run to Harry. Draco couldn’t help but notice the blood, more than he expected. Draco was eager to lift Harry and carry him to the hospital wing, but Dumbledore stopped him.
“Mr. Malfoy, we have no way of telling the details of his injuries. We must levitate him to the hospital wing in hopes and making nothing worse than it already is.”
Draco nodded, watching Dumbledore levitate Harry and begin to take him away. Quickly, he cleaned up the blood on the field from where Harry had landed. By now, Ron and Hermione had made it to Harry’s side and walked along with Dumbledore. Once Draco caught up to them, Hermione squeezed Draco’s hand gently.
“I’m sure he’ll be just fine, Draco. Don’t worry.”
Draco could only squeeze her hand back a bit; no words would escape his mouth as he watched Harry floating towards the hospital wing.
