i got fired
so from the title of my blog you can see that i got fired the other day. On Sunday I went to work and was taking care of my duties as usual. Prioritizing my schedule for the day putting the customers first as always and my suplemental work on hold AKA filling the soda coolers. I went into the building after getting all the carts from the lot and ran into a customer. They needed some help with an item that was a little too high for them to reach and also too heavy. They told me to please stay in the one area until they return so that they can get me to get the item down for them ... they said they would be right back. While doing so I took time to look at my schedule because I was not sure of when I was supposed to leave for the end of the day. At that moment, the cashier came up to me bitching because I didn't fill up the soda coolers yet. She started yelling pretty loudly about the issue which was totally unnecessary and I quote "If you don't want to work, then i'll just send you home. Then the Human Resources manager can deal with you". At this moment I was pretty pissed off ... I explained to her in a very calm manor that I was currently waiting on a customer to come back from a certain isle so I could get them down their item that they were planning to purchase. Apparently a soda cooler is somewhat more important then customer service. So at the meeting for Home Depot, the Human Resources manager told the Lot Associates AKA "me" that he needed to speak to us in the back of the building. He started bitching us out about stuff like "we're not doing our jobs" and "you work for the cashiers, you do what they say" ... right then and there I tried explaining the situations about the cashiers and how they don't really do anything but stand at a self checkout area making sure that people don't steal merchandise. Immediately they told me to stay after the conversation. During the private conversation, I was informed that I was getting too many bad reports that i wasnt doing what the cashiers told me to do and that they are forced to let me go. I simply replied "Well I guess that customer service isnt one of your main priorities ... cause it sure is one of mine and if thats the way it has to be, then I could give a shit about this job" so I was pretty much fired for doing the right thing which is a bunch of bullshit.
