Okay, let's just get this one thing straight--Croc Rock is/was what I
consider(ed) a safe haven for metalheads... If things keep up the way
they do (playing fall out boy & hawthorne heights in between sets)
and having girls with preppy clothes dancing, it's going to be scene
kid & emo kid heaven... fucking christ.
anyway.
Maddam Ink.
I really enjoyed this band. I really did. I must go see them more
often. Their vocals guy was really good, and I let him know
too. Their guitarist was pretty freakin sweet, and did a nice
little bit before they started playing and he was just really
good. Their bassist was pretty decent I'd say. He did have
on a g n r shirt, so he gets points for that. I really enjoyed
their drums. Altogether they were an Alt Rock in my opinion, not
emo. The guy really sang from his heart, you could tell...and he
busted out the acoustic at one point =D I heart acoustic. Yeah,
and the singer threw me a tank top which doesn't fit me unfortunatly...
but at the end I got a free cd from some lady.
Sound The Alarm.
We met their guitarist, Brian I believe, outside
before the show, and I asked him, how is your band...he said "well, I'd
like to think we're good.." okay...
So this was emo-fest 2005 right here. He was a fucking great
guitarist and for that my hat goes off to him, but if he wants to be
taken seriously he should quit that band and join a more alternative
band. Yeah, their lead singer, I thought he was a woman.
Seriously, the way he was looking at Jon and the way he was dancing on
stage...pathetic. Whatev. Not too much to say about the
rest of the band, because they just aren't my thing. But a lot of
their girl fans were screaming like crazy for them.. and they had a
quote "metal song" wow. you jerks, NOT METAL. NOT CLOSE TO METAL. whatever I am done.
The Rivalry.
A fairly new band with an alright sound that I
couldn't stop rocking to. I liked them. I liked what I
could hear of the screamy vocals. I liked their guitarist for
sure..bass seemed freakin sweet...drums were definetly alright. I
want to hear moreeeee!
Alien Ant Farm.
I was
REALLY disappointed at the lack of people that showed up for
them...pisses me off because they're a really cool and fun band.
Anyway...I was so excited to see them finally!!!!!! =D They came
out and rocked it... Tye was absolutely nuts on the bass, my god, he
did a double bass thing at one point, one bass wrapped around the front
and one wrapped around the back, I'll be posting pics of this in a week
or so.. but yeah, and he like put his led in front of his fretboard and
hopped around while playing, craziness!!! Then...we had Joe Hill
in front of us..he is a GREAT guitarist, I mean really, they probably
don't get enough credit, but that man is talented...and he so smiled at
me at one point hehe =) Mike Cosgrove, love him. His drum
kit is really nice, I like it..and he's without a doubt, a great
drummer. Dryden is really bizzare to watch in person, I mean his
vocals are just so weird, but I love it. and his hair, kinda scary,
slicked back with gel like a school boy, kinda freaky, and he kept like
petting his hair like it was in his way when really it wasn't.
And I must say it's a definite turn-on when he was caressing himself +
such...mmmm..dryden. He totally bashed Geffen Records, and I am
totally with him. Screw that. He also made a point that
quote: "everyone wants to get their pussy licked, and everyone wants to get their dick sucked."
I dont remember what brought this point up, but FUCK YES!!!!
hah. At the end they had a very JAZZY outro with Joe &
Tye being awesome on bass & guitar...Joe made the guitar sound like
a fucking saxophone!! AWESOME. Then when it was over, Joe
was handing a set list into the crowd and grabby assholes were trying
to get it, but he was handing it to yours truly. ;-D That made my night.
After such activities, got an AAF shirt for only $10 because I rock
like that...and I got their CD too, which they're not even on a label
for, but oh well, it's REALLY GOOD!! We unfortunatly couldn't
find them afterwards to sign stuff =( they were probably in the 21+
section unfortunatly =(
good show!!!!!! =)
