Title: 10 Song Drabbles
Author: xxi_hate_chooxx
Pairing: Frank/Mikey
Rating: PG to PG-13
Disclaimer: I only own dust bunnies. please dont sue o_O
Summary: Drabbles inspired by random songs that popped up on shuffle

I stole this thing from , I found it perfect for a starter like me :P Hope you enjoy.

1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Turn on your music player and put it on random/shuffle.
3. Write a drabble related to each song that plays. You only have the time frame of the song to finish the drabble; you start when the song starts, and stop when it's over. No lingering afterwards!
4. Do ten of these, then post them.

I. The (After) Life Of The Party - Fall Out Boy 89 words

Mikey sat in the corner of the room, quietly sipping from his bottle as he watched his obsession parade around the room, talking to everyone and anyone.

Everyone except him.

He knows that it's not rational; Frank's popular, in a semi-successful local-bar type band, and is sure to never been seen around him. Ever. Mikey has no idea why he continues to hurt himself like that, to obsess over someone that doesn't even knows he exists.

All he knows is that he can't stop. Even if it kills him.

II. In The End - Linkin Park 110 words

Frank looks around the deserted street of his childhood. His memory wasn’t lying to him; it was exactly how he remembered. His own fucking nightmare.

He still remembers when he was five, playing with the kid living a couple houses further. They were best friends ever since, graduating from high school together. Best friends till the end, right?

Wrong. After twenty years of friendship - that eventually grew into love for Frank - he had to leave. The next day.

Frank was heartbroken. How could Mikey do that to him? They thought they would stay together forever, even if they both had different meanings of ‘together’.

Some things do change after all.

III. Runaway - Pink 143 words

Mikey picked up his cell phone, crying as he pressed out the number he knew too well. “Come on Frank, pick up…” He whispers to himself, fearing about being heard. Finally, he hears the line pick up and a reassuring voice answer sleepily. “Hullo?” The person yawns.

“Frank. I need your help.” Mikey mutters, choking back a sob.

“Mikey? What’s wrong?” Frank asked, clearly more awake.

“I need to run. Tonight. I’ve had enough of him. Help me.” The broken teen whimpers.

There was silence on the other line; so long Mikey was afraid his love would just tell him to go back to bed. Finally, sign of life was given from Frank’s side.

“Perfect. Just wait for me; I’ll be there in barely five minutes.” And at his words, Mikey sighs in relief. Because he finally knows he’ll be okay after all.

IV. Greener With The Scenery - The Used 167 words

Mikey is sprawled over his bed, clutching a crumpled piece of paper tightly in his balled up fist. This was the third time Frank had told him the same thing. Only this time, he didn’t even have the courage to do it face to fucking face. Wiping a tear from his cheek, Mikey reads the words again, only this time, he knows them by heart.

Mikey

I am so, so, so sorry, I hope you know that. I tried. I really did. But it truly doesn’t work. After all, we weren’t meant to be, right? I think we should go back to being friends. It worked back then.

This time I mean it.

Frank.

Yeah, right. Next week, he’ll be back saying he was wrong, and ‘Please, can’t we give this a second chance?’

And Mikey always says yes, even if this game of cat and mouse plunges him into depression. He needs Frank, even if he makes them run in circles.

V. Peace Sign/Index Down - Gym Class Heroes 172 words

When the bell finally rings, dismissing the masses of students for the day, Frank shoves the rhyme-filled paper in his bag before darting out of the room, not before stealing on last glance at the boy behind him.

Mikey Way is the reason he’s been writing so much these days, and his band is thrilled. At this rate, they’ll soon have a couple CDs worth of songs.

‘But I’m not doing this for the music.’ Frank sighs internally, walking towards his car. As he was unlocking it, the sound of his name makes him turn around, and his eyes to widen at the sight of the person running up to him.

“Hey. I saw you last night at the gig. You’re real good. I love the lyrics.” Mikey chuckles, sliding his glasses up his nose in a geeky - adorable - manner. “You’ll get far one day. I know.”

Frank grins. “Thanks.” He gathers his courage and blurts. “Maybe we could hang out sometime. You know - together.”

Mikey just grins. “That would be great.”

VI. Nails For Breakfast, Tacks For Snacks - Panic! At The Disco 112 words

Frank was drunk. Simple. He knew it, so that was something, right? He stumbles into the building, giggling at his foot getting stuck in the lobby rug. The head nurse looks up, only to let his head fall back onto his palm.

“Frank, I TOLD you not to drink. That was one of the conditions of your liberty.” Mikey sighs.

Frank only giggles some more. “Oops?” He tried to look sorry.

Mikey only shakes his head and walks towards him. “Let’s get you back to your room, yeah? Everything will be better tomorrow.” He says.

Frank stays quiet for a minute, then states “Only if you’re still there when I wake up.”

VII. Old School - Hedley 173 words

“Where are you taking me Frank?” Mikey whines for the hundredth time as his friend pulled him along the vastness of the Belleville streets.

“Memory Lane.” Frank answers simply, making Mikey even more confused.

After another ten minutes of walking, Frank announces that they are there.

Mikey scrunches his face up. “Belleville High? Why did you…?” He lets his sentence hang, perplexed.

The younger man just grins up at the old building, a look of longing swimming in his eyes. “Remember the times we had here? The parties, the people… hell, even the teachers.” He laughs, smiling.

Mikey looks up at the building again, seeing it under a new light. “Yeah… Things were so simple back then. School, homework, party. Simple. Easy…”

Frank sits down next to the old oak in the front lawn - their oak tree - and sighs. “Sometimes I wish I could just come back. Live the good old days again. The crazy days, the wild nights…”

“Even if we can’t remember those anyway.” Mikey laughs, plopping down next to him.

VIII. Untitled - Simple Plan 185 words

Frank wants to open his eyes and rub his head, feeling as if it were to explode. Only, he can’t move. Pain shoots through his body, making him cry out. But the sound never leaves his lips. He’s stuck.

Why is he lying like that? Why is it so intensely bright behind his eyelids?

He feels a pressure on his hand, and suddenly it all comes back to him like a wave washing over his mind. The bar. The drinks. Getting into the car and driving off.

Mikey! He was in the passenger seat. Suddenly Frank NEEDS to open his eyes. He needs to see him alive.

But the sobs at his side, the thumb passing over his knuckles, tell him that Mikey’s okay. But he isn’t. Why can’t he fucking move???

“Wake up Frank, please…” He hears someone murmur, and he’s sure of it. That’s Mikey. But what is he sorry for?

He feels himself slipping away, the light growing in intensity and his pain dulling. ‘I’m dying.’ He thinks suddenly. ‘I’m sorry Mikey’ Is his last thought before complete darkness takes over.

IX. Me Against The World - Simple Plan 151 words

“But what if they’re right, Frank?” Mikey asks, looking up at the starlit sky, willowing in the insults their peers shot at them everyday.

Frank takes a lungful of his cancer stick, deciding against staring at the sky and glancing at his friend’s face from time to tome instead. “They aren’t. They don’t like us, no big deal.” He shrugs.

Mikey sighs. “But still, this is high school; it’s supposed to be the best years of our lives.”

At that, Frank bursts out in a surprised laugh. “What? No!” He chucks his cigarette at the ground. “The best years are what you want them to be. Period.” He grins. “And they’re coming. I can feel it.”

“But what if it’s always like that? What if we’re never going to be accepted?” He turns to Frank, who merely looks at him in the eye and smirk.

“Then it’s us against the world.”

X. Cubicles - My Chemical Romance 177 words

Mikey types away at his computer, looking blue from the light of the screen. He tries to concentrate on his work, he really does. But the sound of his colleagues laughing from somewhere behind him makes him blush. From one colleague in particular, but he doesn’t dwell on that. Instead, he leans in and continues to type, trying to block out the voices.

Later in the day, Mikey is walking crookedly with a stack of dangerously piled papers as he’s trying to walk back to his little excuse-of-an-office. He’s practically there when he hears his voice ahead of him. “Yeah, that’s pretty much it. I’m sorry for leaving on such a short notice though.” He has no idea what he’s talking about, but he has a small idea. Butterflies erupt in his stomach and he stumbles, making him lose his balance and topple with the papers.

And he just walks past; still talking to who-the-fuck-ever he was talking to before. “I’m sorry also Frank, you were a great employee, and I’m sad to see you go.” Oh.
