in case you were wondering
I now officially live in Chicago. This has many bonuses including the Art History M.A. (hopefully Ph.D.) program at UIC, easier access to good shows, living close to awesome ladies such as Raye and Maud, and a bigger apartment (which is looking pretty snazzy if i do say so myself.) However it also comes with some downsides, such as: only seeing Jake every couple of weeks (big change from living together) learning a new job (I just started today) and needing to make allot of new friends so that I don't wear out Ray and Maud when I'm lonely. This likely won't be a problem once school starts because between my 16 credits and my two jobs I'll be too busy to think about hanging out with anyone, but in the mean time it sucks. I miss Indian food with Catherine and knowing that i'll see Jake every night. I miss being able to call Kevie and just hang out if he wasn't busy. I miss the $2.20 an hour that I lost when I started my new job.
I know, I know, "Wah wah wah. I moved to a great new apartment in a great new city to go to a great new school. Wah."
All and all things are great and they're just going to keep getting better. I just have to get used to this whole starting over by myself thing. I think it's time for a bath and some Francesca Lia Block, those are two things in my life that will never change.
