SO, I'm finally home and about to go to sleep after a long two days away from home. Click the cut to read it.. I dont want to bore the ones who don't want to read!
Thursday night had a few friends over for a game night, played soem random board games and drank mixed drinks.. left over liquor at my apt.. whaaat! Left Friday morning with Christine (both of us were not feeling up to par) and hit some Jacksonville shopping.. DSW, and the mall. Went to our (very cheap and very shady) hotel and worried that we might get mugged. took a nap and left for the brad paisley show around 6.. Partied on with our cowboy hats on and sang along to all the fun songs (i.e. mud on the tires, alcohol, etc) Sugarland was the opener, and they were pretty good as well.. Went around by the busses and waited for the band to come out, but alas there was an after show party and we didn't feel like waiting two hours. Left for Savannah in the morning and went to Paula Deen's restaurant 'The Lady and Sons' and got turned away bc they were full. went shopping and bought some christmas gifts and stuff. That town is too cute for words, seriously. The people were so sweet, the weather was great, and the food, mm. We went back to Paula Deen's restaurant at 3:15 to put our name down for dinner, and waited in a line that wrapped around the building, TO MAKE RESERVATIONS. wow. Anyhow, we were told to come back at 5 and wait across the street, which we did, and then we ate. Amazing. Simply amazing. We got the buffet, since it seemed to be a little bit of everything. VERY southern, but that's her style. Fried chicken, creamed corn, fried fish, pot roast, lima beans, rice, green beans, biscuits, hoe cakes (yes, hoe cakes), macaroni and cheese and *the* best sweet tea I had all weekend. I felt like they might have needed to roll us out of the restaurant, and we got dessert to go. It was soo good. I would def. recommend it. Walked down by the water and looked in a few more stores and bought more fun stuff. Back home and was surprised by a package from Kristin with a very cute plaque by Sandra Magsamen "a friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart" aw. ANYHOW it was a very southern weekend to say the least hah. goodnight!
