I have my vocal audition for Humber. Now my audition is early May and I need to know some basic stuff.
- prepared pieces - one jazz, one whatever (ballad, and upbeat)
- vocal excercises - need to know warm - ups, will be warmed up with Humber teacher
- scales - Sing major, harmonic, melodic minor scale, one octave, ascending and descending.
- sight reading - Read the rhythm of and sight sing a short piece in a major key
- improvisation - Improvise a jazz piece
- resume - including previous musical studies and performance experiences.
- theory evaluation - The whole Elementary Rudiments of Music memorized.
Well, at first it seemed impossible but now that I look at it overviewed I can do it. Secretly, I'm anxious for time to fly and my audition to be a week around the corner, even better I have confidence in my abilities. I am excited, so excited I may pee myself, or maybe I already have but am in such shock that I haven't realized it already. Besides the fact that I need to learn all that over the course of the next month I need to.
- Grow my hair
- Dye it
- Loose weight
My vocal teacher suggested the top three, she said the way I look now wouldn't be acceptable, my shaved head shows strength, and with my piercings she says I may look to tough. She mentioned when I grow my hair I should dye the tips blond, and she brought up the fact that skinner types make it in the business a lot easier than bigger folks such as myself. HaHa I love the music industry. Oh and she doesn't know I'm out and about =P Even though I was wearing PINK TOE socks my last lesson, she couldn't help adding in comments against 'gay' songs. =P Crazyness!!
BTW: I really like the show "Just Shoot Me" and "Golden Girls" got a problem with that BIATCH?!
