The soccer

I had a dream involving the soccer just a few minutes ago. Prior to this particular dream, there was some evil villain guy in this museum looking building that had to be stop. I thought it was kind of neat how I helped put an end to his reign. I had these little baby ducklings do some work for me by taking them out of my pocket and then letting them swim over to the villain. I don't remember much of that one.

But on to the good dream! Well, I dunno if it's really good for the reader; I just distinctly remember the details. The entire soccer team of 2005-2006 got together again and we started playing against Stratford. Why Stratford I dunno... maybe cause I resent that Bo guy *insert smirk here* It was dark and cloudy, I think it might have even rained prior to the game. There wasn't any mud though. I played right mid-fielder. With the exception of one of the athletic trainers being ejected from the game before the game even started, I'd say it was a darn realistic and exciting game. I would try to narrate the game to you, but some of you can watch a soccer game and be bored. Imagine trying to read it; I'm sure it would only be worse. I will share that I distinctly remember blocking the ball with my head. It wasn't as painful in the dream as it sounds nor is it too painful in real life. I just redirected the ball more or less with my head. Also, I think Tomohiro or Hirotaka... I think it would be Hirotaka cause he used to play farther up more than Tomohiro. Anyways, Hirotaka kicked the ball towards the goal. The ball rolled forward with incredible speed. He got it out of the danger zone, and it was set up nicely for a shot on goal. Again, I distinctly remember being pleased because we had a tendency to play with the ball too much in the back. I could clearly see it and see that all that stood between me and the glory of scoring a goal was the goalkeeper. I knew I had some distance to cover because I was only a few yards in front of the half-way divider; the ball was already past the 18 yard mark. I made a mad dash and surprisingly caught up with the ball but it was rolling too fast and it rolled out of bounds. I did make a very cool slide to stop myself from running.

What sucks is that after that little breakaway, Stratford scored a goal on us. :-\ Sucks to lose in your own dream. I was surprised at how much energy I had in the dream. When I woke up, I reflected on how my soccer playing attitude could have been better. I never had a "do or die" philosophy about it. I just viewed it as obligation that was fun at times. I didn't have a do or die attitude about anything. I wasn't super serious. I wish I had the intensity and the desire for the ball and victory back then. I'm looking forward to the alumni game again this year. I remember playing very well... at least by my standards. Maybe it's cause I had Mary Anna watching and having her there motivated me not to look stupid.
