What if "pits" are extremely pathetic to begin with?

who the fuck says I'm in a pit because of 'the scene' besides 'the scene' shouldn't be in the fuckin pit in the first place. thanks.

I don't like "pits" because they draw attention away from the band playing at shows.
Why can't people enjoy the music aspect of shows instead of beating eachother up.
I've been to shows where people in the front are more focused on the pit at the back of the venue, than the band inches in front of them.

If you want to have a pit, go outside to your car and put on Throwdown or whatever you chose, just don't bring it inside for the people who don't want to be bothered.

Its a person's choice whether they choose to pay attention to the band, or the pit. If I'm not about to head into the pit, I'm watching the band. People who don't dance, but watch the pit, have a right to, but I agree its stupid... but who says you have to be watching the band to enjoy them? You still hear their live music even if you're turned the opposite direction. Pits in NO way are just 'beating each other up.' In fact, most people refrain from getting in fights because its disrespectful to the current band, but still I enjoy the music, being in the pit, more so than just standing there. I'm getting into the music, letting it run through me, and letting that energy, that rush, that adrenaline out. Hearing and seeing the bands I love, live, gets me really pumped up and dancing is a great way to let that out. Just standing there, I feel completely worthless ( ... )

music never makes me "get crazy"? the only thing that gives me a rush these days is daughters and cocaine. music isn't a "huge rush!" to everyone. it's also pretty relaxing, even if it is metal.
