"Bakaness" Can Be Troublesome

Dec 30, 2010 13:49

On December 23, I  made the stupidest thing.  I was having problems receiving notifications to my Yahoo! e-mail account from the Aibakaland forum.  So, I decided to use my Gmail e-mail account instead.  I hadn't realized that, by changing your e-mail settings, your account could be inactivated.  It's been a whole week now since I sent an e-mail ( Read more... )

I did not know that 'e-mail' part. O_o
Since the administrators are both Filipinos (as far as I know), they are most likely busy with the preparation for this Holiday season (Christmas and New Year) ^^;;

By the way, how did you contact the moderators? :/

Thanks for the information! Luckily, I got my account reactivated just some minutes ago. Yatta!!! As for getting in touch with the moderators, they provide an e-mail address. You can't send personal messages, or (if you're a new member) ask when will your account be activated, when are you going to be granted permission, or matters similar to these aspects. However, if you encounter a problem with the forum or account, you can write them an e-mail. It takes time, but they answer. If you need the e-mail address, let me know. I'll send it to you.

Oh I see. It's a good thing that you have your account back. :)

The admins can only activate your account (probably) because the system in the forums made some counter measures just in case someone (aside from you) used the account. It is not really a stupid thing (like what you have mentioned in your entry) but we do not have any idea about it. :3

Happy New Year..!!

Thanks for the explanation! However, I still think that I was the one at fault here. Moderated forums tend to request specific information. Important changes should be discussed with an administrator/moderator. Since I was focused on properly receiving forum notifications, I didn't take time to analyze the situation. In an open forum, you can change almost everything. Sometimes, you're even able to change your user name. Moderated forums work differently. Once you register with a certain information, it kind of becomes your forum identity. So, changing it would require authorization. Even though I knew all of this, I acted by impulse and caused myself a problem. Luckily, the administrators and moderators helped me solve the problem. I was really lucky. But, I'm ready to leave this awful experience in the past. A new year is about to start, and I'm heading positive and optimistic toward it. What about you?

Mah~ at least, you learned something from experience. We need to be more careful then. ^^

For this new year... I want to be more optimistic. ^^ That's my main goal. Studies and other responsibilities will follow.

That makes two of us. I'd also like to be more optimistic, but I'll be working on my studies and responsibilities at the same time. I wish you the very best for 2011. Ganbatte! Let's do our best. ;-)
