I'm sure that everyone knows about O'connor stepping down from the supreme court...but what not many people seem to know is that the next person to be elected to the court has the power in his/her hands to decide what happens to the decision made in 1973 with Roe vs. Wade(
the scary facts )

We need a moderate judge, not a conservative. I hate my representatives -- of course, I do live in Texas. (And boy have we prospered since George took office -- coincidence?)
I'm gonna write call do everything I can to my reps, but I know it won't do much. :\
(Also, women's rights are just the start. Think of all the things that could be undone. "For example, would [Roberts] have voted with the majority to strike down anti-gay sodomy laws in America? Or to declare Colorado's anti-gay Amendment 2 unconstitutional? Neither Clarence Thomas nor Antonin Scalia did -- and that's the kind of appointment Bush promised to make to the Supreme Court.")

If human rights do get screwed over before we have the chance to stop it... can we really make them right in the future? I hope so.
