Summary: Aiji finally gets a few days off from work, but his bandmate, Maya, doesn't cooperate with the guitarist's plans of being alone.

“Finally,” sighed the colorful haired man as he plopped himself loudly onto the dark leather couch. Bags among bags full of groceries sat atop the granite counters in the small apartment’s kitchen, laying lifelessly without any chances of getting put away anytime soon.

As the man had said before, finally. After what Aiji thought was the busiest, most exhausting week of his life, he actually had a few days off. Lives, photo shoots, band practice. Nope, none of those. No more of that for the next three days. Even if three days didn’t seem like much to the average person, it was like eternity to Aiji, and he couldn’t be any happier. Even though the man loved his job as a guitarist dearly and would never dream of any other profession, it was more than nice to finally be able to relax and have some time to himself. So many lovely, workless days, all to himself. No one was to bother him. Even if they did happen to be tall, blonde, and eat too many lollipops for their own good. Speaking of light haired sugar addicts, what was Maya doing, anyways? On a regular day, the vocalist would’ve called Aiji three times, at the least, before the clock even made it past noon, but today there was no sign of the tall man. No voice messages, texts; nothing. Anybody close to the blonde would know that this was a sign that Maya was definitely up to no good.

Though Aiji would normally get up and call the other man himself, he was being lazy and was practically about to pass out right on his couch. He turned on the television, just listening to the sounds coming from it since he was far too tired to even glance at the brightly lit screen. In less than a minute, Aiji was barely conscious. Not fully asleep, but definitely not awake, either. A quiet sound could be heard coming from down the hallway outside of his apartment, but he was too unaware of his surroundings to even care about the noise.

Only a minute or two later, something that’d resemble the sound of a door being slowly opened with caution reached Aiji’s ear, but it simply just slid right through and out the other. It was quiet again for a while, aside from the gentle tapping of feet walking on top of carpet. At this point, Aiji was gaining more consciousness by the second, though it was returning rather slowly.

A pot shattering against the kitchen floor rung through the small apartment, entirely destroying any silence that was left, which wasn‘t much. It was completely impossible for Aiji to further disregard his surroundings. The guitarist groaned and turned onto his side, shooting one arm forward to stretch. When Aiji’s arm forcefully hit against something that immediately began mumbling curses, his eyes shot open to be met by a familiar pair of curious brown orbs.

”AIJI!”

“MAYA!” the colorful haired man shouted, quickly sitting up in shock. Maya rubbed his slightly red forehead where it had been hit before sitting down and crossing his long legs. A goofy smile spread across his face, two dimples immediately emerging from his smooth cheeks. Unwrapping a lollipop, he continued to look at his band mate sitting across from him.

“.. How did you get in?” Aiji questioned, not even bothering to scold the man across from him. It’d be useless. Maya would end up ignoring every word he’d say, anyways.

“Do you remember that day your key went missing and how I found it?” the blonde asked, tossing the candy wrapper behind him onto the clean rug.

“.. Yes,” the tired man replied, eyeing the trash that was just carelessly tossed onto his living room floor. “Why?”

”Well, you see.. it was never really missing,” the blonde began, appearing to be carefully choosing his words. “I just.. borrowed it so I could make a copy of it.”

Aiji stared at Maya in slight disbelief. Slowly, his stare turned into a glare after he reconsidered what the other man had done. Trying not to get angry, he closed his eyes and took in a deep breath. “Why would you do something like that?”

“So I could get into your house without your permission.”

“I know that much, just- Oh, forget it.” Aiji gave up and sighed, looking around the room. For a moment, he stared at a wall blankly a tried to piece together what had just happened since he was still a bit slow from sleep. He then looked back at Maya, whom was still wearing a silly grin and batting his eyelashes at him. “What do you want?”

Maya let out a little laugh, finding it humorous that Aiji knew he wanted something from him. “Can you drive me to the general store? My car.. er.. Broke.”

”…”

“What?”

“You passed the general store on your way here, Maya.”

The blonde looked at the colorful haired man as if he were truly oblivious to this. Even though his expression was thoroughly convincing, Aiji knew better. Maya was obviously up to something, so he had to be cautious. “Okay, fine. I’ll take you there. Just be sure not to bother me for the rest of vacation.” he said after a second of thinking.

“Okay, okay! Thank you, Aiji!” Maya said, practically skipping out of the wooden apartment door to wait for Aiji by his car.

When Aiji finally arrived at the parking lot in front of his apartment after putting away the groceries, he was greeted by Maya sitting on the top of his black car, having a staring contest with an orange cat that was laying there. By the looks of it, Maya was winning. It was easy to tell with the way with the way he’d pump his fists into the air and laugh at the poor, frightened creature.

The cat ran away when Aiji approached the car, giving a friendly smile to Maya. Even though he could be annoying, the blonde was surely entertaining to watch. “Come on, let’s get going, already,” he urged, not wanting to waste anymore of his quickly dispersing day.

Once they were on the road, Aiji decided to ask Maya a question. “What exactly happened to your car, Maya?” he questioned, curious to know the answer.

”N-nothing..” the blonde stuttered, obviously hiding something stupid he’d done.

“You tried making your car into a rocket again, didn’t you?” Aiji answered for him, smirking to himself.

“NO!” he retorted, “ I just wanted to fix it so it’d hover a few feet while I drove and then.. This happened and that and it just didn’t work out.” His disappointment was obvious when he crossed his arms and pouted, glaring at Aiji when he let out an amused laugh.

“Come on, Aiji! Hurry up! You’re not that old, I know you can go faster!” Maya shouted from across the parking lot, other customers staring at the man. Surely, a full grown man jumping up and down in excitement like a young school girl was an interesting sight to see.

“Shush, I’m coming!” the embarrassed man shouted back, hurrying to his friend after locking the car to avoid anymore ‘interesting’ situations.

“I heard they were selling limited edition heart-shaped chuppa chups here!” Maya explained. Aiji rolled his eyes heavenward at Maya and his lollipop obsession. He wouldn’t be too surprised if he got ill from them; it seriously can’t be healthy to consume so much sugar daily. The guitarist was pushed out of his thoughts when Maya tangled his hand with his own, pulling him towards the candy aisle.

“Aw, man!” the blonde complained, trying to grab the box of lollipops. “It’s too far back. Why would the put something so yummy so out of reach, anyways?!”

Maya continued to mumble, attempting to step up onto the first shelf to lift himself higher.

“Maya, there’s one lollipop down here,” Aiji said, holding up the candy so the other could see.

“That’s not enough! I want to get the whole box!” he said, still trying to get up onto the shelf so he could get the sweets.

“Why would you need so much? Hey.. Maya, I don’t think that’s a good idea-” the shorter man was cut off when the other slipped, pulling down the box of lollipops and landing on top of him.

Aiji looked up at the man on top of him, mentally kicking himself for flushing. “.. Er.. Why did you need so many..?”

Maya’s dimples made yet another appearance when he gave his friend a warm smile, leaning forward a bit. “I wanted to share them with someone special to me,” he replied, closing the space between them. Aiji couldn’t believe it for a moment. Maybe he was still in his apartment, sound asleep on his couch. Dreaming. That could be it. No.. This was real. The guitarist closed his eyes, returning the kiss.

The two only broke apart when their need for air could no longer be held in. Maya popped a lollipop into Aiji’s mouth, pressing his nose to the shorter man’s cheek affectionately.

Aiji laid there wordlessly before being the first to speak up. “So.. Do you have any plans for the next three days?” he asked, smiling when he heard the vocalist giggle against his face. Although he originally intended to spend his vacation alone, the idea of spending it with Maya wouldn’t exactly be too bad, either.

THE END

Author’s notes: Well, that was my first fan fiction. XD Sorry if it wasn’t too good, but it’s something to expect out of a beginner like me. I’ve actually had this story in my head since February and started it months ago, but being the lazy person that I am, I never got around to finishing it until now. I hope you enjoyed it!
