How to...

Maybe you don't want your friends page to be default white. You may want it to look like your journal page. This little tutorial is really simple and it'll work.

Before you do this, make sure you install the layout you want first.

1. Copy the layout again and paste it into Notepad.

2. Hit CTRL+H. Find What: LASTN Replace With: FRIENDS. Then click Replace All.

3. After that, copy the layout again and paste it before or after the layout you've already installed.

4. Hit Save Changes and check out your Friends Page.

You could do this to any layout that you'd like. Say you like my Natalie Portman layout but want Simple 2 to be your friends page. All you'd have to do is install Natalie Portman and then install Simple 2 the way I showed you above. Simple!

Is you header hiding part of your entries?

The reason this is is because you do not have a 100x100 default icon.

What you need to do is go to Manage > UserPics. Upload an icon that is 100x100. You can find TONS of 100x100 icons simply by searching anywhere on the web.

Make sure when you upload, that it's DEFAULT. You'll know it's default if in the top right corner has your icon after you save changes.

Your header shouldn't hide your entries after that.

So maybe you don't want your pictures hosted by TinyPic.com and you'd like to have them hosted by yourself so you don't have to risk TinyPic possibly screwing up for an hour or so. I'll show you how to do this.

Firstly, you'll need the images. You can either find the images in the codes or you can comment on my layout post asking for them. What I'll do if you comment is give you the links from the layout.

Let's say you want the images for my Mandy Moore layout. I'd give the link for my background image and the header. The background link would be http://tinypic.com/90tytu.jpg and the header link would be http://tinypic.com/90u0et.jpg

Click on the link and save the images to your own computer.

Next, you'll need to host the images. I highly recommend Photobucket.com. It's free and easy for hosting images.

Upload the images. Below you image that you've uploaded is three lines that have links in them. Make sure you highlight and copy the URL line.

Let's say that was your header image. Go into the codes and look for LASTN_WEBSITE. Find the codes that would have

<*img src="LINKTOTHEORIGNALHEADER">

It should be under a div. Replace the link with your link from your image host. Do the same for the background image. It'll be under the LASTN_HEAD. Find the codes:

body {
background-image: url(URLTOTHEORIGNALBACKGROUND);
}

Save changes and it should work so you will have the images hosted yourself. :)

Sometimes, you messed up when you installed your layout and it may have some light blue background on your entries that may hide the background or your entries may also be to the side. Basically, it just doesn't look like it should. You have 2 main reasons for this. And it's because you didn't read VERY CAREFULLY to my installation instructions. But instead of being a bitch about it like some designers would be like, I'll do this so you'll know how to fix it and not have to ask me. Also, if you don't fix it, it looks horrible and when people see it, it reflects on my work. I don't want people thinking "Ew" when they see it. So...

A

You just don't have the right Layout Style. MAKE SURE IT'S ALL GENERATOR!! It'll look like this:

Do that and your entries, I can PROMISE you, will be aligned. Unless of course, it's hidden under a header, that may be due to some ICON issues. But it's all fixable. :)

B

You have colors where there shouldn't be colors. Make SUUUUUURE you press Custom Colors and that there are NO colors in the boxes AT ALL. It should look like so:

If you still have problems, it may just be some issues within the coding that I may need to personally look at. If that's the case, don't hessitate to contact me.
