Soundtrack: Star Trek

I generally don't like listening to soundtracks without having seen movies. For one, it's somewhat of a spoiler because you get an idea of the mood of the movie and (provided the tracks are in order) of where the ups and downs are. I love you for this post :) I also love orchestral scores, and I'm usually afraid of listening to something before I see a movie or television show for fear of giving something away! And I LOVED Giacchono's score for "Lost".

I've never watched Lost and never heard the score. :o But I'll bet it's lovely. I actually really like Giacchino, but he's not really my top guy. I'm more into Thomas Newman or John Powell really.

Not to be a weeaboo or anything, but Yoko Kanno is my absolute FAVORITE composer. Seriously, the woman an evoke SO much emotion through so many different mediums. I mean, her music was the primary driving factor in my tattoo decision.

On the American front, Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard and James Horner round out my faves :)

Oooh, no complaints about Yokko Kanno. <3 Her music really is gorgeous. I first fell in love with it thru Escaflowne. She really is a talented lady. :3

James Newton Howard--yessss. Regardless of how anyone feels about Lady in the Water as a movie, that soundtrack is phenomenal.
